Here is what I have so far. Insane F1 tunnel hull untouched. Insane lower outboard drive. I have a stock Zenoah 300 that I am going to use to start out with.
The hull had a split on both sides along the seam so I started by fixing them. I had some ACP EX Lam epoxy and after reading the specs decide to use it. I was able to suck it up in a syringe and inject it into the seam, turn the hull on edge and let it set for 12 hours. Did this on both side. After that I took the same epoxy and mixed it with micro balloons and let it run down the inside of the seam. Did this to both sides. Hope this will hold it together.
After this I started wet sanding the hull fixing the seam and other places through out. I think the filling is done, but still have some wet sanding to finish out before paint.
Mounted the drive unit. The housing of the shaft is about a 1/8th inch about the bottom of the boat as it sits on the table on the back of the sponson. I have a 7016/3 that I'm going to try.
The engine is test fit to the drive unit. I was able to get a Aeromarine collet. I also found out that a Zipp super collet will. A Gizmo collet will not work, to long to fit in the space provided.
I've started setting up the steering servo and that's about where I'm at right now.
