2 1/2" to 3" should get it done. Since it's a straight blade angle in towards hull 7-10 degrees. Keep in mind the more angle the less tolerant the boat will be for left turn corrections.

Does anyone have a template for cutting the cowling (window slots) for the Lexan canopy?

Sorry i can offer you any advise but i am building exactly the same hull and setup right now. it won't be finished for a few months but would love to hear your feed back on it and setup once you get it dialled in.

I have finally got the boat set up to run straight and true with the help of everyone in this thread and it runs awesome. Runs dead straight at full throttle and corners on a dime. A lot of fun. It handles quite well and makes it easy for this novice driver keep it on the water.
