yeah what can I say... maybe the twin just wasnt meant to go there...

on the plus side if I go by boat there will be heaps of testing time on the way...

wonder if the boat stalls will they turn the cruise liner around to retrieve it???

EMS Racing Now thats just plain silly!!!

How about hitching a ride with an aircraft carrier! Imagine the props you could launch with using one of those steam catapults!

Nitrocrazed racing: The silliness has just started! ;D

I can never drive if there is too much blood in my alcahol system!!!

EMS Racing I would rather a full bottle in front of me instead of a full frontal labotomy

If you need something air-freighted over here and need an address, ship it to me and I will put it inside my truck to make sure that it arrives safely in Milford. The airport here in Kalamazoo is AZO to Airlines. All non-racing items are going in the trailer.

I see that you people like to quote the great minds of our time, Weird Al Yankovic and Cheech & Chong. ;D

If you ship it over in a Coffin, I know a guy that has a Crematorium with a sense of humor!

HEEEEYYYYYY!!! Now THERE'S an idea! I bet Customs wouldn't even check it! ;)

As the plot thickens....

Now my accommodation and car just fell through.. Typical for everything to go wrong a week before I leave. I had friends coming to Chicago to take me down to Detroit and they had somewhere to stay near the lake. They have just pulled out so I am pretty stuck. Maybe I will just wave from Chicago???

Anyways anyone going thru Chicago with room for 5 boats (packed away) please let me know. Am looking into other ways to get there or maybe even a hire car if anyone can reccomend a real cheap car rental place (I dont mind driving less than perfect cars) in Chicago.

About to check the accommodation as well so if I get into trouble with that I may need a tent too... LOL

EMS Racing What else can go wrong?????

If you can make it to Kalamazoo, I will get you the rest of the way. Amtrak runs through here constantly from Chicago and the train station is about 5 minutes if that from my house. You would go to Union Station next to the Sear's Tower.

Don't worry about having a place to stay at the 'Nats, I rented a 6 bed cabin there and myself and the kid are takng inflatable beds to sleep on. Plenty of room and it won't cost you a Cent!

Ron,

Thanks for that. I will certainly take you up on that offer. I should be able to get to Kalamazoo pretty easily as I get into Chicago on Thursday July 3. Looks like I have half my freight sorted as well as it seems cheaper paying excess baggage rates (at least from Australia) and all the boats end up flying with me.

Email me at [email protected] to work out the details. And you cant let me stay without contributing to the costs!!!

EMS Racing Where there is a will, there is a relative

I talked to Mark McCray Sunday night. Their site, http://fordmodelboatclub.com will also have Daily updates plus possibly some pix. They will have coverage from 3 TV Stations plus a Cable Access Channel. The Detroit News has already done 2 articles on the race.

I'll still call in updates plus if anyone has questions, the person that I call could ask me. Most of my calls will be after 8:00 PM Michigan time. Saturday and Sunday calls could be earlier.

Craig, where are you?

Ron,

Just packing boats tonight. Flight leaves tomorrow morning for Chicago. Will either have a hire car or take a train to Detroit so I will get there Saturday morning. All looking reasonably organised. Will call on Friday to confirm what is happening.

EMS Racing up up and away

Great news. I e-mailed you 2 phone numbers, you should be able to get hold of me at one of them. You might want to leave my Cell phone number with your family in case they have to call you for some reason.

For those coming from points West, while you are coming East on I-94 near Exits 96-100, look off to your left. Battle Creek is holding a Hot Air Balloon World Championship meet there and you might just spot about 100 of them in the air. They do a 6:00 AM launch.

Can I have those directions from where I should have taken that left turn at Alberquourkie (excuse the spelling but thats how BUGS said it!!)

EMS Racing Now I am really lost... What side of the road do I drive on???
