Also.. is the night race open to all?

Grim
Way I read it, only 21 size boats and RTR???
cool.gif

Grim,

The Night Race is open to the first 18 drivers. The only limitations is the boat size due to the fact it is a night race. Glow sticks and darkness, slow is safest..lol

Hope this helps,

Mike

Mike

I was looking at the entry form and did not see sport 20 on the list, just wondering if this class is going to run at the 2010 Nats.

Thanks

Also... it looks as if we are going to be trying a new format. OK.. but are you saying we are running specialty classes before US-1 classes are complete?

And for those that only run for US-1 (say sun-mon) they also have to wait for specialty classes to complete before the final phase of Trophy trials (sat)?

RTR and Sport tunnel are US-1 classes? There is no Sport 20?

What is ABPM?

Just a tic confused or completely out of touch.. hahah

Save me a seat Don!
You know it!!! B)
If you have room for one more, save me a seat too, Don!

Dick
I better bring (2) bottles of Crown...LOL
Tony, you can never have enough Crown! Do ya think they sell it by the 5 gallon pail?

Dave
If we all hook up with Stu, Fergie and the rest of that bunch we might as well have 55 gallon drum of it shipped in. :D
Here it is only December and the Ferrette Internats Express Hauler is already 100% booked with first class seating to Finch, Tyndall and Skelton. Yeah baby!!! B)

Grim,

There really is only two special event classes, that being Novice and RTR. My guess we maybe looking at 10 heats between the two classes and they also will be used in case we're time restrained, due to weather or something. Both of which we feel, is made up of the future drivers off this sport and very important to not forget. Yes they are scheduled for Tuesday-Wednesday and Thursday-Friday slots, so I guess, Yes, we're breaking the rules. The night race is after dark, and hopefully not breaking the rules there.

Right now sport 20 was not picked to run and upgraded to US-1 status but, yes sport 20 tunnel, will run for US-1.

I'm keeping a list of classes not offered and interest. I know the number of heats we can run and still make it through the whole program. As we sit now, all classes can be split three times (18 entries) and we'll make the time restraints.

So, point is, if there is a class or two that the 18 is not meet or that the 6 minimum is not reached, we have time to fill with other classes (like sport20, stock mono, thunderboat).

Sunday-Monday classes will heat race on Sunday and Monday and do there oval time events if they qualify on Monday. Yes, all straightaway time events for all classes will run Friday-Saturday. The format you maybe use to is everyone heat races, then everyone does oval and straightaway Thursday-Friday.

Our feelings are, for the driver that only races Sunday-Monday. Take the family to Ceder Point, have some fun, go check out the islands in lake Erie. Come back on Friday, wrap up your US-1 and celebrate your victory and great week, at the awards banquet.

Not sure on the ABPM, help me out there,

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Mike

when did sport tunnel become a US-1 class? Holy cow.. I dont agree but I will be there to ROCK IT!

As for the ABPM you have to tell me. its on your flyer?

Man am I out of touch!...lol

ROCK ON and see ya at the race!

Grim

The rule page e4 states that all us1 cjasses have to be completed before any specialty classes can run. since when does the host club get to decide what classes get to run for us1 all the gas classes are not approved us1 classes

Mike thanks for doing the Internats but,,

Isnt this the NITRO nats?

Why all the gas classes and US1 status??

Worried about low turn out from nitro guys, like last years race? Dont think that the nitro guys are not ready to race,, we are!!

Run the official US1 classes and if they dont turn out add all those other classes on in the last month before the race.

I think you should get the official US1 class business taken care of and then you can race gas boats in the special classes.

We will see how the gas boaters will take to US1 racing all week, not just on the last weekend like it was. I worry that they wont want to use that much vacation time.

Gas Nats has not used the US1 format cause of the time taken to do the time trials. First gas nats did I think and that was the end of that.

Mike and the gang from OH are a smart group of dudes. This will all turn out OK.

Quite a few of us know what it takes to make this event happen.. thanks for all those that have EVER done this.. Man its a TON of work.

I do not want to be the hard ass but...

This IS the nitro internats

This IS US-1 RC boat racing (Specially classes are secondary) -Sorry if that includes Novice.. (lets face it.. we always have time for the youngens)

TIME should be scheduled FOR US-1 classes and time left over for Specialty Classes

STRONG NITRO classes "LIKE SPORT 20" should not be ignored

IF the current secluded format was approve by the board.. i have to ask.. how?

Who feels this should be addressed Via phone call.. heck.. me i guess... :p

ROCK ON IN 2010!

Thanks again Mike and your entire club for stepping up, you know I won't miss it this time! If you need any help I'm there for ya!

Here's a copy of the post I put on Jim's:

Great job Mike, Tony and the entire IMPBA Board for finally seeing that we need to include ALL our members at our IMPBA International Regatta!

I still believe that running against the clock makes our IMPBA's US1 unique and the most prestigious award in model boat racing. Heat racing can be 1/2 luck, running against the clock evens that out!

Something else to consider might be to designate a minimum number of entries to "make" a US1 class (say 8) and offer US designation to ALL legal IMPBA classes, gas, nitro and electric. If the class doesn't "make", it's not offered. If there are too many heats to run you could have cut-offs for the number per class, runs less rounds per class etc.

Not sure how a class is "worthy" of US1 designation, IIRC when I was on the Board it was voted on in Executive session. Why not just let the numbers decide?

Ya know.. at this time im going to back off untill eveybody has had a chance to read through the flyer.

Its likey that im just an OLD ROMANTIC and like the old US-1 format stuff.

Lets let this dog lay untill the board as has time to double check everything.

Becides.. we have LOTS of time untill the race.

Grim

I would like to see the US-1 format run the way it always was. Run the specialty classes after US-1 competition is completed.

Mike Z. Count me in on that phone conversation.

Don't get me wrong. After last years problems with the internats, I think it's wonderful that PMBC and Mike Lainge have this organized so soon. I know that it will be a great event.

I hope I'm not the 19th scale boat to enter and be left out watching.
