Brings back some very fond and not so fond memories of my career. When they mentioned Valleyfield I remembered the 35 ft. overback flip I lived through in my H-888 "Miss New Jersey" at about 145-150 mph at the 1967 Valleyfield World's Fair World Championship Regatta. . The "Miss New Jersey" was powered by a 427 ci Keith Black Hemi. After departing the hospital I was asked to drive the Miss Quebec which I agreed to. Problem there was those folks didn't speak english and I didn't speak one word of french. Those were the golden years of power boat racing when we would get boats from New Zealand, Switzerland, and other countries I can't even remember. 25 to 35 boats in a class at a race was a normal occurance. Memories!.

Thanks for posting this Tom. Perry

If you guys are fans of the GP's well heres a link for you guys http://hydroplanequebec.com/en/

many vids to watch, The Neat part of it all is that I live about 15min to 1 hr drive from a lot of the races they

put on here on the canadian side.

well Injoy guys

Oh yes check this out a little vid while at the race near my place in the good old pitt's

Crank it Up

Tom: Look what you started! I ran against Jules many times. In fact when he was out in his boat testing in the video I saw the exact spot about three quarters of the way down the back chute where I had my worst accident ever. It has given me shivers watching Jules run right over the spot where I went airborne. If my math is right that was 47 years agol. Time "flys" when you're having fun. Thanks for bringing back memories Tom. You are the best. Perry

Perry , Im not sure if you go over to Scream and Fly (the website) or not. But there are several AMAZING threads that guys that raced from your era -mostly outboard guys- about Lake X- Miami Marine Stadium and much more.

It would be incredible IF we could talk you into sharing more of your stories about racing and your memories here with all of us. I know your a humble guy, but you have SOOOOO much you could share of your racing days that we could write a book. I know for sure Im not the only one who would be interested.

So how bout it ???

Andy
