Ian,

I still have a 1475 with ridiculous bends in it if you need it. Dont know if it performs but it doubles as a fan in the US Summer heat!!!

EMS Racing It also stirrs paint really well on the end of a Dremel

Craig,

The leading edge pitch of a 1475 is far less than the prop I ran! Kind of limits the speed I think...

What did you want from Mark?

Nitrocrazed racing: Need more prop...

Ian,

Already have a few coming across for the bird... hence the X465 that was on the back of it at finley is definitely coming off. Still will be interested in a couple of long course / straight line twin props... may get you to smuggle a pair (read 3. I need a spare for the good ones) back in with you.

EMS Racing International Propellor Smugglers

Craig,

It might pay to wait until you get new pipes/engine specs for the twin, it may need smaller props. What do you need SAW props for anyway! :p

Nitrocrazed racing: Circuit racing is more fun...

Ian,

I am assuming that long circuit props would be almost useable for SAW too.... Still have the H667s and pitched H38s for short course.... Hmmmm (thinks) (smoke comes from ears) maybe an idea to send em over with you to have mark take a look at and maybe tweek a little????? Will have to get on the old Email to Mark...

Then again that would mean me having to post something to you, and my postal record to you is less than average!!!

Tim / Ian - Maybe we should have a pooling of resources and get one big order between us instead of all these bits and pieces???
Sounds good to me - I'm VERY happy with Mark's handiwork on the 2 props I have from him.

Fellas,

Shipping is no big deal for me,but it takes a long time for your payments to

arrive. I don't think I will be at The Internats this year, but if Ian can give me

an address when he gets here I can ship to him while he is in The States.

Craig,

You will need at least 2-H-48's or a pair of 2616's for your twin. Also, one big

order will work for me too fellas.

Ian,

I will probably be shipping down to The Internats for some of my other

customers anyways,so another order is no big deal. I will just need an

address to ship to. I can probably ship to Allan Waddle's house also if

he will OK that.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Mark,

It's a shame you won't be at the internats - I was thinking that if you were there you would be able to see the boat 1st hand and make a prop selection accordingly.

Tim.

Tim,

Here is how I start my propeller selection process. I pull out my 21 Propbox

and start from row 1 and work left to right. With the Stalker and stop watch

setup, I just go through 20 propellers until I narrow it down to 2 or 3 for the

days air density. It is really testing that I love in this sport. Usually I'm lucky

if I get to the second row of five. I'm lucky, I usually have 20 or more propellers

to test with. Now, I think I have around 35 to 40 to try. Actually, I have been so

busy with propeller work I haven't even tested my four new 21 riggers.(No Joke)

I should start testing soon though,I will post some of my test results when they

are meaningful.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Mark,

Does handling come into the equation at all or do you just chase speed / times?

Tim.

Tim,

I think lap times are the best indicator not speed unless you are doing

Str.Away of course. Handing in my opinion is more with front sponson

angles and strut locations. Big propellers usually give you wicked

handing problems. I like to run small propellers with a lot of pitch and

I try to run them as deep as I can for efficiency. It can take a year or

two to get a 21 rigger setup good to heat race,or just a lot of time on the

water, testing different setups. With the second box of 20 propellers this year,

I will have a lot of time on the water testing for the optimum setup. I can tell

you the goal is to be able to heat race 75 to 80 MPH. The reason I try so many

propellers is, that I do a pitch range from 3.2" to 4" and then I try different

cuts and configurations on the trailing edge. Once I get the right diameter,

then I narrow in on the right pitch. I then go for lap times, acceleration, handling,

etc. It can take a little while just like typing this information.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Thanks Mark,

Some of the guys did some testing with the new ABC's at Finley for use in oval racing and didn't find a set-up for good handling (They seem fast tho')

Have you found that you need to change your set-up considerably (from H series prop setups) to get the best out of the new ABC's?

Tim.

Tim,

We have not made any big adjustments to our boats with the 1716's.

Are you guys trying too big of propeller for the application? The new

blades are designed quite a bit different than any other propeller out

there. I would like to hear more about what they are trying to use on

their boats. I would suggest stepping down one size if they are having

handling problems though. Fast, yes they are,but I wouldn't switch if it

gave me handling problems. :)

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

i tryed 2518 on my 67 rigger real fast handled good, as fast as my fastest prop, pulled it like it was'nt even there.... cupped it to 6.9in still pulls it to easy. only prob i found tourqe keeped moving my strut had to put a third bolt in the strut,

45 rigger- got 2216 and 2218 only tryed 2216 same deal easy fastest 45 there pulled like was'nt even there cupped it to 5.8in handled great still got lot more testing to do. as both 45 and 67 engines were brand new still not run in. got 1716 and 1718 to try on my 21 rigger as well let u no how it all go's
