Greg one more piece of info! The reason people are telling you about Hobby Supplies in Aus. is because with the current exchange rate the 101 EVO is at $547 plus $40 shipping, you won't beet that price. Google Seaducer boats and you will see Jerry Crowther's contact info.
Thanks Timothy. I have Jerry's contact info, I just didn't know that was who he was talking about. I also checked hobby supplies for pricing. Enjoy yhe new year. Thanks for reply.

Charles is running I believe a 45”. It’s either the 44” or the 45”
The evo 101 is a great performer and significantly cheaper. The parts all Interchange with the RS3. The cooling head and case are different mainly the evo is 4 bolt heads and the newer ones are 6 bolt head. And the evo has more cooling. Which in a mono is not a big deal. But easily by-passed.
No reason for the price not to run one.

But definitely listen to your local guys as to what is smartest or popular.

Thanks again for your response. I deeply appreciate all the info people are giving me.

44" or 45" Seaducer are your best options for the 101. The 47" is the gas size hull with Nitro Strings. The burn off of fuel makes the CG Critical using this hull for Nitro. The 45 is WAAY more forgiving and will take the Strut adjustments well. The Gold head 101 is Very capable of winning, the M-line, and Rs3 Long crank (M-line) offer very different features from the gold head. IF price is your driving factor the gold head will not disappoint.

6717-3 and the AL1 are a "LOT!!" of prop. U will be faster at times, but risk Buring the motor down if u do not make other tuning changes. X470 V-cut will get you home every time.

I have raced and run everything mentioned. " ALWAYS KEEP a X-467 in the prop box, Not all water is EQUAL...."

If a 91 version is going to be used, X-467 or V-cut 467 from Mark Sholund.

Reading posts and asking questions. Is this a good choice of engines? From the questions I've asked and from what I read it is. At first I was looking at nova Rossi but then found out they aren't making marine engines. Then I thought about an o.s. max .91 but couldn't find them around either. So then I asked on a post and people told me about CMB which I never heard of. So then I started doing a little research and asked more questions and was told by Danny king that the 101 rs3 m line was the engine I would want.
Listen to Danny.....and yes, Charles Dukes' boat is a monster....

Guess I'm a bit miffed that no one has mentioned fuel consumption with the big CMB, and the maintenance- particularly the con rod roller bearings....they do have a service life and the replacement requires special tooling and skill set.

Also, regarding Charles' boat, thinking Danny set that 101 RS EVO up for 40% fuel, and it also runs an SPP carbon fiber quiet pipe (Australia) that Danny has incorporated into his tune up.

I don't think you'll see much race action, if any, with that class of Mono here in Michigan. There's no doubt you'd be better served running B or D Mono in D2, and especially at any of the events in Michigan.

One thing we can guarantee- you are going to be stunned with the fuel consumption of that Seaducer 101 package....it'll burn through $100 worth of fuel in short order.

Good luck!

I'm with you Tim B And D mono are great classes in D2 Charles runs B and D mono at every race and usually saves the big mono for bigger events Happy New Year
Exactly....I was building one up a year ago and after some thought regarding fuel consumption, all around maintenance, and the reality of having to travel ~1500 mi to compete, we made the correct decision to sell the complete, never fired rig to Frank Trapani (WastedWages) down in Texas....and he got a helluva deal.

Well, save up some money, Jeff!...can see this one coming!- 'For Sale: Seaducer SD3 45" Mono with CMB 101....run maybe 1-2 times, excellent condition...Best Offer.' 🤔....😉....😂😂😂

I’m all about new boaters expanding their fleet. A lot of budget talk on this thread, but remember not everyone is on a budget that tight. If you can afford a 90/101 mono go for it as that class always makes at the big races when 40 mono does not. I’ve helped 2 local boaters get into this hobby and both have 45” Seaducers with 101 power in them both. One already races and the other may start traveling this year. The 45” Seaducer is a great platform and Jerry even has great prices on RTR boats. Jeff Lutz

I hear yah Jeff I just seen he introduced him self as a new member not sure if he's ever raced before didn't know if he wanted to dive into the fastest mono class out there but what do I know ?
Buying a boat and testing/practicing is not racing. He doesn’t have to race it in the first month. I wanted to point out that when racing time comes for him that class always makes when 40 does not. That was the main point.
