ChuckYou MUST defend your title from last year.

Bring the wife and we take care of the delivery if necessary...while you are busy with the boats ;)

Ronald
Thanks Dr Ronald! Bringing the gang along would also include mother in law. Short answer, ain't happening. I'm going to have to accept that I won't be able to defend my title.

Not only was it bone stock, the first time it got wet was open water the weekend of the race.
James, unfortunately, I can't make it this year. Second daughter is due early in March and I'm not going anywhere for at least the first month. After that hopefully I'll be able to get to some races.
Chuck you old dog, thats great, mine is 27 and I still haven't recovered.

congratulations,

Mike B
Thanks. It's going to be a loooong time before I recover. BTW, you didn't respond to the offer I sent in an email. ;)

Ahhh.... The BIG tunnel race is fastly approaching, the entries are rolling in (see them HERE ) and the boats are being tuned... (Or broken if you are Mark Scott). Only 83 days left until the new National Outboard Champions are crowned...
So where is all of the smackers? Not much from the Fatwell brothers, Mark tried to take a jab at me, but he is a newbie to smack talk, so it was about as useless as throwing a beach chair off the Titanic to try and save weight....it's not gonna matter, you're still goin down!....

Mitch Jr. must have discovered girls, havent seen him on here in weeks. Dude, you are better off leaving them alone, you dont want to be like your Dad and Uncle Tonya do you? Someone told me that you have a really fast sport boat or mod boat or whatever now.... isnt that an oxymoron? Atwell/Fast boat?

Ron Byrd, Otto, Talley, Van Houten, Rushing, Premo, Whiddon, Fatwells, Hearle, Lee... you boys ready or what?

Lets here what you guys are bringing to the race, here's my fleet:

Villain, Sport 20 Tunnel, O.E.R. OS Engine

Nemesis, Sport 40 (twin .21's), O.E.R OS Engines

Villain, Open FE, NEU Brushless

Villain, FE Q Tunnel, NEU Brushless

Nemesis, Mod .21, O.E.R. Rossi Engine

Nemesis, Open Tunnel, (twin .21's) O.E.R OS Engines

That ought to be enough to keep me busy for a while...

Roll Call..... Who is next?

~James

On the entry form by 40 Sport Tunnel it says no tuned pipes, anything else goes! Does this anything really mean ANYTHING?

Mark Hopper

Hey Mark, as long as it meets the following:

Engine is between .301 - .458 cubic inches in displacement.

Hull is defined as :

g. Tunnel Hulls: The tunnel hull will have two continuous keels or "sponsons", thus

creating a tunnel or air trap along the length of the hull.

No tuned pipes, must meet current IMPBA quiet rule

Other than the above, its "anythinge else goes"

~James

....man.... what does this mean Mark has cookin?

Yep.

Ok, is it going to be a suprise or you gonna tell us what you have in mind?

Mike Talley had a sweet running twin OS .21 XM powered Shaman for sport 40 last year, I also built one for this year (on a nemesis) to run in sport 40. So those are two, not so common entry's.

I better see if this "Rabit" will run first until then it will have to stay in the hat!

All right guys, the holidays are over now and time to start getting serious about the race and get the entries in. We now have over 40 tunnel boats entered with many major racers not entered yet. Once they do will hit well over 100 tunnel boats. Honestly expect to get 120 boats entered by the early returns. Let's get them in and preserve your preferred frequency. This will be the largest OB tunnel ever held so test your skill and mettle against the best.

Just noticed on the entry list that Ron Drake has entered... dont know what he's bringing, but you can bet it will be fast. Dont wait guys, get the entries to us!

It was probably fast a couple of years ago don't know about now I guess we will see. :D

I didn't see a NOVICE class..... will there be one?

Even just a single sport Novice would be good.

Bill,

We have offered the Novice classes in some of our past races but not enough entries came in to run the class. If there are 5 or more entries I am sure the club officers would be willing to add it. I agree it is an excellent way class for new racers to break in. Do you know of some that are willing participants?

Novice is great. There just isnt any interest in the class. Like John said, its been offered in the past with NO entries, much less enough to run a class.

If there are enough guys, then heck yeah, lets run it.

I only ask because Mike Crawford and I are planning to come down and I have only driven one of his boats once...... I am just now finishing a "sport" tunnel and a "D" 7.5 tunnel.... and of course the 48" Gas Tunnel that he and I are working on (which I am most definelty NOT racing...... if it is ready, he will be driving that one).

I race rc cars (both on the oval and the road course) and I fly planes, but have not gotten much water time with a boat yet. With our water as hard as it is and not much chance of it softening up prior to us coming down there, I would hesitate to enter the regular class.

If I were to practice on Friday and find that I thought I could do alright, would I still be able to sign up at the race?

Thanks

Bill,

Call me at (843) 552-0736. Like to discuss some options with you. If I get a feel from you maybe others are in the same situation so we can make some adjustments to do things better.
