Transmitter choice I don't know what to do

Well i having mixed thoughts on transmitter cuz I have spektrum dx6c and people are saying signal.issues are happening. Everyone saying go Futaba is this something I should be worried about or should I do something different any help on this is greatly appreciated

When Spektrum first came out on the 2.4GHz band, they worked great.......for aircraft.
The issue was that a high VHF or UHF signal, which is where the 2.4 band is, are easily reflected by the surface of water. This caused reception issues that lead to boats going out of control and being damaged(or destroyed in one case that I witnessed) and people going back to the tried and true 27 and 75MHz systems. Futaba was able to figure out the problem and, when they released their 2.4GHz systems, they didn't have the same issues. This is where the anti-Spektrum sentiment came from.
Spektrum has since figured out how to fix these issues and has come out with what I've been told is a reliable system. Over the past few years, I see boaters using Spektrum systems but not to the extent I see using Futaba.

Futaba makes excellent equipment......ive been using their stuff for decades, but they are not the only game in town. ive had much success with other brands including Spektrum, Hi-tech, Flysky etc. Im still not the fan of 2.4 that most people are. but i use it........as well as FM/PCM.....i guess im a dinosaur LOL!

I use the spectrum dx4r pro for years in both never had an issue even getting the receiver wet or dunked a few times and they still work fine never a problem the old original spectrums had issues on water but since they come out the dsmr systems they have been flawless on water

I use the Hitec 4S TX with the Proton RX which is a great system however it's no longer available. I also have a Complete Futaba system which is very good.
Unfortunately you don't have many choices other than Futaba which is what you will see here on IA that most racers will be using .
If your just fun running use what you have, however if your going to race with others go with Futaba.

If you were tech savvy you can get the gt3c and mod it and have a 7 channel radio and so many model memorys you will never run out. I have 20 boats programmed on mine with 3rd channel mixture . Receivers are cheap in 5 packs on eBay and we have had really good luck with them. Conformal coat the receivers and your good to go. Its a great feeling radio with tons of features. All you need to mod it is a pic programmer and just a quick internet search how to do it.

Had a lot of problems with it
Got the futaba 2.4 and still have it
It's getting obsolete but had many trouble free years with it
Going to stay with futaba

I recently aspired to get back into the game after 20+ years and bought a Flysky Noble NB4+. I haven’t used it too many times but it seems as good as anything Ive had in the past including Futaba, KO Propo, JR, Airtronics/Sanwa, etc. with as good as if not better build quality IMO.
I cant speak on how well they work around other boats/systems since I found the game is dead as can be in my area…..even though there is a dedicated city rc boat pond 5 min. away. My only application thus far is a Q Mono Seaducer SD4, so pretty limited use but am having zero issues.

I know 3 people with NB4's and my radiolink. in a sea of futaba users I've never heard of a problem running together. radios are pretty darn good nowadays it seems. China is notorious for not caring about FCC regs on radio equipment. which means they are MORE powerful with better range.

when you can get receivers for $15 I just cant see a reason to go with super pricey radios.

That is exactly what you want only get a diversity receiver with it. The R334SBS is the better receiver for that radio. They have dual antenna one external and one internal.

There is a reason it is $90 more for the one with better receiver but the pricing still doesn't seem right.

The difference is $90 but a new R334SBS is only $100. I recon the one with the R304 is on sale. Maybe you would buy that then and get a R334 separately and sell the R304 to get another R334.
