Thom Hammer's 45 mono made one way pass of 81mph at leg lake strait lines but bent the crank preventing the return run, lookout next time.

he calls it a thom cat his own design it looks like a john finch wild thing but not the same he runs cmb engines the 2 lap boat i beleive has a purple head cam and the straight line is a r/s
 
When the boats on the only thing in the water is the prop no production hullruns the same too bad RS cranks go on a regular basis.
 
It's just the weekest link in a great engine. Tig welding the two halves doesn't seem to help.
 
John if you remember his 45rs was the small journal crank, not the new large journal crank, IIRC no one has bent or broke a new style crank.
