he calls it a thom cat his own design it looks like a john finch wild thing but not the same he runs cmb engines the 2 lap boat i beleive has a purple head cam and the straight line is a r/s

what is the reason for the cranks to go?

It's just the weekest link in a great engine. Tig welding the two halves doesn't seem to help.

John if you remember his 45rs was the small journal crank, not the new large journal crank, IIRC no one has bent or broke a new style crank.

Tough not to bend or break something when you "stuff" the boat at 80+ MPH !!!
