a favorite would be a toss up between the villain & great planes top speed. the top speed is abs, and subject to cracking (as is any abs hull). very stable & forgiving, similar to a villain in those respects. both hulls respond very well to a base line setup. once you find the 'sweet spot', most combos will run best very close to that same setup. i use the top speed for a test mule & play boat, & the villain for racing. the top speed is a little more blow over prone than the villain, so i guess the villain is the winner. now that they're available again, might just be my new play boat, also. i'm in the process of building the nemesis (kit # 005!), so no thoughts on it, yet. the abs hot shots take quite a bit of work to make them run well. sheeting the bottom, squaring it up & sharpening all the edges. they can be made to run well, but building the wood kit seems easier to me. i've got motors on 8 of them. you're right, all kabooms. i don't think i've bought more than 3 complete ob's so far. most have been built out of 'box lots'/swap meet parts boxes. i might be short a couple of lowers, but i could come real close to having an engine for each one. when i go racing, i take a complete spare ob, & enough parts to build 2 more powerheads. hey, they don't call them kabooms for no reason........... although, i've learned a few tricks to make them last. haven't touched the motor on my villain all year, & haven't cracked a case in about 2 years. i broke a rod (old style dogbone) a few weeks ago. that was on a FULL MOD ex. throttle/prather mod motor, that was turning some serious r's, so not a total surprise. still, the first rod i've broken since early spring last year. k&b's need to be put together with A LOT of attention to the parts you are using, particularly the case. out of approx. 30 cases, i've only got about 10 that i would race. i think the term quality control rears its' ugly head about now.......... i have about 4 good size cardboard boxes of k&b .21 parts. all broken down & bagged -cases, heads, cranks & so on. a lot of people have bailed on k&b's, so the stuff for them can be had pretty cheap. fits my budget just right
. just call me a junkyard dog  ! oh yeah, forgot to mention i have 11 tuned pipes, also. all i do is .21 tunnels with k&b's, so it's easy to build a stash for just one motor B) .
