Gang, Just to sweeten up the race interest some more, the CMB club has decided to provide a dinner meal at the lake after racing on Monday evening, Memorial Holiday evening, May 28th. The Corbin clan will prepare for us a meal called by several names, the Beaufort Stew, Lowcountry Boil or the Frogmore Stew. It consists of sausage, potatoes, corn on the cob and large shrimp all cooked in a seafood seasoning. It is dynamite!! There will be no cost to the racers but there will be a box for voluntary contributions to help defray the cost of the meal.
Awesome , hope I can make this one ! :D
Make it happen, FAST Foley B) ==={}

Hammer,

I've begged all weekend for him to think about it. Looks like I will be there, and CMB has stepped up to offer the very best facility available for such a event.

Marty, you got your hands full there, hope this weekend was a step in Marks learning curve. But there is still a long way to go.Lets talk.

Randy:

I have assembled a GREAT crew to make it happen. In fact, we have some really neat things plannned. With Dick Jones as Social Coordinator, you can imagine how much fun it will be. :)

It sure would be great if people didn't wait till the last minute to enter. Makes it much easier to plan everything and budget.

ENTER EARLY !!!

Manufacturers Parties at the Internats:

Tuesday May 29th:

Technology Fuels will be the host. This is a company that is owned by John Otto and is a major supplier of Premium Nitro Fuel. Technology Fuels will have a display of their fuels at the party and orders and sales will be taken at that time. If you need premium fuel for the Internats, either make arrangements ahead of time by calling John at 813-651-1840. He usually brings fuel to most major races and can do so for the Internats. You can also buy fuel at the Manufacturers Party. I know something about his product, as I use it. He uses all synthetic oil (the best) and can and will mix whatever you like for your own application.

Wednesday May 30th:

Crapshooter Boats/CMB Engines will be the host of the party on Wednesday. Stu Barr is the host of this party. Crapshooter Boats are considered one of the finest outrigger hydros available. Stu produces a very limited quantity of boats every year. Is a great opportunity to see if you can get on this exclusive list for next years production. Stu also is the importer of the CMB line of nitro engines. The latest VAC models are the leaders of most classes run and are one of the premium engines available. I am sure that Stu will have some examples of boats and engines available for you to look at.

Both Manufacturers parties will be hosted by Stu and John and all contestants are welcome.

Soft drinks and finger foods will be supplied. A great time to "hob knob" and bench race!

Hey folks--Wanted to give you an update on PRIZES for the Internats.

I am probably up to $5000 worth of stuff that will be given away. Lots more to go. So far list includes boats, boats and more boats, several motors, radios, props, fuel, tons of hardware pieces, plugs and support equipment. I may have to rent a UHAUL to get this stuff to Charleston.

BTW Marty (Is a great opportunity to see if you can get on this exclusive list for next years production.) Are you planning on moving back to Indiana to help me build these things?

Stu:

That is great news....

NO, I am not moving back to Indy. Have gotten used to the wonderful Winters in St Petersburg :)

Only problem, no Wintertime to do building projects since we can run all year and we have races during the Winter. In fact, most of the best races are in the cooler Winter Months.

Mark,

It is too early to tell at this point. It is my intention that we get enough entries to run every class for the US-1's. But the racers, that literally BEGGED the CMB club to host the INTERNATS instead of the Nitro Nats, have not entered yet. As Ray noted there is 6 weeks remaining before the entries are closed. What happens will depend on what the racers do, or not do, themselves and it will not be the cause of the CMB club. We have worked our butts off to host and stage the race as many have asked for. And we dropped almost 1K to get the lake surveyed and approved for record trials, something that has not happened at the Internats in some time. The CMB club has listened and did it.

So what are you guys going to do, enter or stay home? It is out of our hands at the moment. I sure hope that the entries pick up and quick and get over the 250 mark. I remain most hopeful.

You guys are killing me here! As some of you know, I'm unable to attend this years IMPBA Nats due to other commitments. One of the very few that I've missed over the years. I've been to Charleston for the Fall Nats for the last 3 years, and will be there this year also. This site is FANTASTIC! Plenty of parking, ample shade, huge drivers stand, set-up area everywhere, and a protected pond big enough, that if you run out room, you really shouldn't be racing! Top this off with Southern hospitality from John and the CMB crew, and you should have draw enough for the Nats. On top of this, you have some heavy hitters heading this up, with great events planned, and now, a great prize list. Did I forget to mention the racing!!! LOLThing is, I realize I'm going to miss THE best IMPBA Nats! If you folks can at all swing it, you need to go!

Here is a first mockup of the T Shirt for the Upcoming Charleston Nitro Internats. Done by Roger Hooks, Jr, I bet it will really "Pop" in person when we get them printed. If anyone has an "in" on "all over t shirt printing" please let me know. It is important to keep the costs down.

Would anyone be interested in doing a program for the Internats and gathering ads for inclusion? I just don't have enough manpower to do it myself, but would really like to have a program done for this special Internats.

If you are interested, let me know directly at [email protected]
