So i have been searching for a non flex boat prop shaft. The only set up i found was from Dumas. Grimracer adviced me to use a straight shaft with no ujoint and just a coupler. So i searched and came up empty handed. I have ordered the Dumas hardware twice. Once when I first built the boat. And then probably 10 years ago. Both times they were bent. Plus it was just a shaft in a tube no bearings. You guys know any body that has these. Or am I stuck making my own. I found the persion ground stainless rod. Of course k&s has the brass tube. Thanks again guys.

I would try Harbor Models 626-963-4591
I was surfing there site awhile back and saw a hard shaft setup that had the shaft, flanged bearings and brass tube.
Give-em a call, they'll prolly direct you right to it
I did find them, search for prop shaft, the tab I found has 5 sizes of shafts,
Unfortunately they include bushings not bearings.
Or you CAN build your own @ McMaster Carr, the have the Flanged bearings there.

Thank you sir. I give them a ring I found the stuff on McMaster. I am a little nervous about threading a hardened shaft that small. Although if I can get it annelled I can heat treat it at work.

Get the shaft only from Harbor Models, they sell it threaded on one end, 14" long.
Build your shaft log/stuffing tube with bearings from McMaster Carr.

So is there a big diffrence between needle bearing shaft and one with just journal bearings. I found needle bearings on Mcmaster car proble is the stuffing tube gets pretty big looks like it will be 5/16 od.

Just anneal the threaded area if you mean just for the prop nut. You should not taking the temper away far enough to hurt the rest of the strength through the prop/drive dog. The end can stay in softer state.
