Maty's hardware is made by a man in Japan. On my prototype I have Octura hardware, the rudder is a special order from them through Gary Preusse. I will have pix soon of it. Our production kits will have no running gear with it for now so it will be up to the buyers to pick their favorite. Yes, we are making a few kits now but they are headed to Japan.

Sorry no pic. as it only a proto type. and I only made one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

have to ask the person it was sent to for a pic. if it works!

:(
Will keep everyone posted on both rudder and strut. Lots of pics too. First rigger I have ever put together, should be fun to see it finished and in the water. Have a few mentors here to help me with the setup and testing. Parts could be a while though, border crossing is very slow right now.

Hey Jimmy,

All I can say is WOW!! .6oz including the padded envelope!! Way to go!

Do you have a pic of the strut? Also, have you narrowed down a price for a complete running hardware package? Like I said before, I will need something for my Hammerhead12 soon. ;D
I would say retail should be $50.00 for the rudder and strut. with all nessary nuts and bolts, setup for the brass tube in a tube bearing for the shaft or can be supplied with lead teflon bushing's wich last longer and are more forgiving !Jimmy

Well it arrived and it looks sweet !

**** Jimmy! Looks nice! I'll wait to see what Wade's looks like when He gets it. I might have to order some myself. I'm going to need something for #2.

I'm not that proud of that strut! as I have made a lot better but this is a test part once I know exactly what is need then i will make better as i need input ! as i been getting replys back from Karl asking about makeing it even lighter!!! so guys if you know who make the metal backed teflon bushings we use in the struts please let me know as the local bearing house is lost on thes! I know I can pay octura or aeromarine for them but that brings the cost way up I I would like to use thes for the strut as I hate the brass in a brass tube thing and If I can get them small enough I would use them in the rudder pivot!

any help would be greatly appreacted.

Jimmy, light weight is what the .12 'riggers need as oposed to Gas boats where the weight is really that much of a problem. The HH .12 is made for either a transom or right side mounted rudder so some weight savings can be made there by extending the rudder bracket then doing away with the angle piece. The length of the bracket could be 2-1/2" long from the rudder hole C/L. A little longer could work also. Seeing how it is thick enough, it could be drilled & tapped and have the bolts put in from the inside. This goes for our kit, I don't know about the Firefighter or other .12-sized 'riggers.

If you talk to Remy Jr. at Aeromarine, he might be able to give you a deal on a bulk amount of Lead-Teflon bearings. He is usually pretty good to work with.

Well guys I'm just putting to many hours at work right now to finish the rigger this month. My opinion, but please remember I'm a rookie not an expert. Pivots do look a bit over sized. Rudder blade at the top where it mounts could be thinner, same as blade to help make blade pivot thinner . Hope things slow down a bit soon so I can finish building and get testing.

Well yes I gave up. Was working 60-70 hrs/week at work, then the bottom fell out. Cut back to half the employees. No more than 40 hrs/week and living beyond my means. Things are finally starting to stabalize at home, cut back alot of spending, so I'll try to finish before the end of this season.
