Steel. When K&B originally started making marine engines (40s) they came with steel wheels. Prior to that we had to convert engines using cool clamps and steel wheels from Octura. The hot engine back then was the Super Tiger 45 pilon engine. It took some doing to convert them to marine as the head had to be turned around and water cooled heads were custom machined. I still have one NIB unmodified.
