Thinking on a new 45 Mono

I missed where he had a Cal-Craft after 30+ posts, but thanks for the reprimand Cliff. Good to know somebody is keeping track of everything for me.

Not sure if this has been said yet, but what about the Cal-Craft hulls from Lenny at Rum Racing?? http://www.rumracingproducts.com/

Thinking on a new 45 Mono

Worse yet, most fiberglass mat and resin s are now being mode in China and elsewhere. I buy American when I can, but it is awfully hard to do in the model world.

    Is there a class?

NAMBA is not really doing anything, what is happening is a few clubs are doing a spec class for LSH and LSO. The UL-1 would be classified as a P Sport Hydro under the rules as they exist right now. But at several races the CDs are allowing the UL-1 ro run in LSH, but it is not an official...

Thinking on a new 45 Mono

I run their 44 inch Sniper mono in both gas and FE. Great running hull. The FE version has a best one way pass (could not back it up) or just over 80 mph. Very nice running hulls. And ditto with Brian on the 32 inch Cyber Storm. Great hull. The quality is outstanding as well...

    Free FASST Receiver Deal

Here are the part numbers for both antennas: HSP79493 ANT 150MM retail price $8.20 HSP79766 ANT BOAT ONLY 400MM $12.13 And again, the longer antenna has no more gain than the "short" one. It just has a longer section of coaxial cable on it to allow it to get outside a big hull.

    Free FASST Receiver Deal

To be honest I have both types of receivers and I cannot tell you that one works better than the other. I am now tending towards using the 603FS simply because I figure that for an extra $10 the second internal antenna can't hurt me!! But once my boats are set up I forget which receiver is in...

    5.5 mm bullet connectors...

I see no reason to change the connectors on the motor side. The UL:-1 connectors are more than capable of handling the loads of this motor and ESC. Same with the Dean's. My Spec boats all use the Dean's set up. I use packs dedicated to the spec boats as well, so no issues there. My boats with...

    5.5 mm bullet connectors...

I use 5.5 mm on all my bigger boats with higher amp draws or ones with a high amp draw potential. For the SV27/UL-1 motor and ESC combos a lot of guys will tell you to go to the 5.5's or better, but honestly for those combos the Dean's Ultras are fine. These are the standard in the airplane...

    Free FASST Receiver Deal

They do seem to love those radios, don't they?? I have no explanation why you can buy a 10 channel 10C with a 6014 RX for only $100 more than the 4PK. But there it is!! Maybe that had to work extra hard on the surface applications??

    Free FASST Receiver Deal

They just about give that away as it is, so I guess they are trying to motivate sales on the higher end radios!. I've got both and they are both (3PM & 4PK) great radios. The 3PM does just about everything you would ever need to do. The 4PK has more memories and allows you to play with a lot of...

    50" Cat Motor Recommendation

I suggest setting it up with 1/4-inch flex with the prop shaft stepped down to 3/16ths. You can use a shim to run 1/4 inch props when you want to and have the flexibility to use all the smaller props as well. I don't know anything about ABC props, sorry.

    50" Cat Motor Recommendation

I forgot you had that. It should be fine. I'd start with a 460/3 and go up from there. I ran ine with a 465 and a 665, both worked with no undue heat issues. Do not try a 1475 pitched WAAAY up, ask me how I know.

They must be pretty busy. I tried calling several times between 10 am and 5 pm EST and got a busy signal every time. I'll try again tomorrow.

Wow, they are still around! I started using their fuel 25 years ago when I lived in Houston!! Lost touch when I left in '89. Cool to see a great hobby business still going strong!

    CMDI

I've sent a couple of emails this week with no answer. I tried to call once and got no answer then either. Hope everything is OK. They are usually very quick to answer. Also, if anyone has a line on some bullet-nose 0.25-inch stainless steel drive dogs I'd appreciate a heads up!!
