Zippkits....will these be competitive with other boats

What's up everybody....I'm looking into building my 1st boat...I've built lots of planes so this shouldn't be to much of a problem.....my question is are the Zippkits competitive ...I'm looking at either of these
for STOCK MONO CLASS.......Super Sport Gas Mono.........OR...SLR Missile Thunderboat.......I've watched both builds on youtube and seed straight forward
or should I just buy a Seaducer

Absolutely they are competitive. Ask Mario Johnson about his SS mono. Or Scott Liddycoat about the SLR. I have built both of them.

yes the ducer is faster but the zippkits is no slouch, ducer is more money to build, we have both in our dist and with the right driver the zipp boat would give a good fight

I find it interesting that Zippkit says to use TITEBOND III and Epoxy.....I've used Titebond III for other hobbies and it works well...for some reason I feel it to be not as strong as epoxy....but if is holds together with the beating these boats take I guess it should hold up
My 1st boat is a BJ 42 but I want to get into gas.......both are going to be a handful I would think.......
throwing this out........what would you pick as a 1st between the 2

Mono is definitely a more user friendly first boat I’d argue, especially for a first gas build.
Can’t go wrong with a Seaducer in my opinion, Jerry is very helpful and builds some world class boats!

If you’re comfortable building, which it seems you are Zipp will be great also. I think going the fiberglass Seaducer route eliminates potential missteps in hull build up and let’s you focus on rigging and setup/ tuning which will be quintessential in learning the gas boats.

If you love building then get a kit and build it.There’s also other kits like Blazer marine.Sounds like you want to go the stock engine class hulls.To me it’s all about money and how much your willing to spend.The zipkitts mono is the lowest cost kit.I use epoxy to build the hull.You need to add up the cost like kit epoxy paint and any other things like tape clamps sand paper epoxy glue brushes thinner for cleaning to give you a real idea of cost.That stuff can add another 100 in cost.I my self build all my boats i like the build and know the boat inside and out I do as much to keep the cost down.The satisfaction of a competitive hull you built to me is where it’s at.I love the rigging part also thinking every step along the way.The other thing is the painting part that could be another thing thing to consider.I like two part ureathane paint or clear to get a automotive finish.So I use a large compressor and quality paint gun to paint.Can buy your seaducer and in a week have it in the water or build one from a kit be at least a couple weeks to a month to finish.

I have built zipp's, ss mono and 3 slr t boats, all go together pretty easy and do good on the water, I change a few things on the t boats along the way in the build, also used to run Jerry's stock mono but now run a rc boatworks Y21 and it has out shined both the other mono hulls, definitely cannot go wrong with one of those in stock or mod classes

Glad I found this thread as I just received my Zipp Kits SS Mono. First venture into a fast boat. I also purchased a GZR Racing 30 plus engine. Honestly, I don't know what I'm getting into as far as boats and this combo but I hope I come out OK! Like the OP, I too have built many nitro and gas aircraft and am comfortable with the build. Looking forward to learning about the tuning process of a boat from you all.
