Now for some more Good News, the cowl has been back from the fiberglass shop a few weeks and it looks awesome. Meanwhile I've been working on the Winston Eagle Lobster; foamed the inside of the sponsons and finished installing the top deck, and also built up and mounted the rear wing and side stabs along with the front canards and flaps, Will install the radio equipment and finish all the linkage and then cut up and fit the cowl to the hull.
Short on time and getting ready for the Gas National this coming week, and will post pics in following weeks. Planning on taking the Winston Eagle Lobster for a pre-view. Thanks You All and Happy Racing !!!!!!!!!!
Could not resist, have Good News, took the Winston Eagle Lobster Cowl Plug to fiberglass shop and had Robert take a look at it before I painted the cowl,
Good thing I did, he advise me not to put a smooth paint finish on the plug, all that's needed is two ( 3 layer coats ) of Evercoat DURA-BUILD Filler Primer with the first coats sanded down with #320 and the second coats with #400 sandpaper (dry). WOW !!!!!! This was a time saver !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Cowl Plug has been changed a bit since the Part 2 Post, with the scoop dropped down 5/8" and the canopy lower 1/4" making the look much better, have not had many comments to get a better handle (bad or good), so went with a lot of pics and videos, the best video was the 89 Winston Eagle Lobster Test Run on u-tube,and the most detailed video.
The "Good News", took the cowl plug back to the fiberglass shop yesterday and to my surprize, Robert said he would have it done by the weekend. I totally was not expecting this sense he is swamped with fiberglass race car orders. This was surely Good News to my ears !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
