I really enjoyed the one day races. Three boats minimum. If you run this series again I will bring one skiff, 2 thunderboats and 2 scales. Perry

All I can hear are crickets? Any updates on a one day series or any series, anyone?
when Drew talked to Tommy, there was no interest in even talking, or doing a series. The Brandon club has theoretically "run out of gas" . I am here to volunteer my services to start, Drew is, but the 2013 d3 schedule needs to be firm, plus all of the specialty races that have been plugged in all over (R/C worlds, WTC, etc..) This was a miserable year for us here, and I can remember a 9 race series that was 90 boats per event, and seen 125+.

Randy I would be more than happy to help Brandon with a 1 day race.

We are real close to having a pond here in Kissimmee at the Silver Spurs Arena.

Only have to get the OK from DOT thy own the pond.

One day race seres would be in the cards for us if this happens for sure.

David,

I had often wondered why the Orlando club could not secure that same pond for races.

And there ya go,, looks like your almost there... What a perfect place, hotels galore, comercial area...

Good luck with getting it done.

Yes it is a perfect pond. all the parking you would ever need and lights for at night.

No drivers stand needed and all the hotels you will need just blocks away.

Joe are secretary is a local police officer and has some connections.

And it is just 10 min from the house. :)

Sounds like a fun day.

Too bad you guys are so far away. If I were west by one more mile, I would be waist deep in the Pacific Ocean. I live in San Clemente, CA.

How far would you guys travel?
The one day races I think were just in Fl. if I am correct. WCMB?? I remember when District 3 use to be Fl. ,Ga. ,and S.C. there where 15 district races a year,Points races. That was not counting your monthly club races. So lets keep the racing alive...all the classes. JMO "Merry Christmas To Everybody!!!"

I have a couple of proposals to toss out at the meeting, obviously the club is committed to the March 2 day -

Beyond that , I would expect the Herb Stewart race to meet no objections for the late Oct date. In light of the GC clubs series, I would like to see maybe a standoff Nitro race or maybe a mid year date for another all tunnel race , of course the dates would be chosen to not interfere with whats already scheduled.

Randy , I hear your frustration and know its been a tuff year buddy, it will come back around. ;)

Shawn- Bodies and help .

Jeremy - you and Stan grown a backyard series in your area and we tie it all together in years to come-

Stan said build it and they will come right ? B)

Stand alone one day series in various areas of the state could eventually lead to something better ............

We run at a pond owned by the Academy...We have several people that go there every sun. It would be nice if we could get something in writing,so we could have a one day/any type of a race there. There is the Grand Prix race that has just started to grow into something that could have the potential to grow into something big. I think the races are Sowega,Atl.,Charleston S.C.,they give certificates at races during the year, then the person who accumulates the most points gets a very nice jacket. Just something to think about...

Not that my opinion means much , but I personally am not a big fan of the the classes offered at GP.

That said. it fits what you guys run up there well and seems to be good racing.

At this point ,as far as one days- and I think most in the know here will agree- We need a few local races that show the strength of everything offered in area. It's not gonna be a united front in the beginning - thats obvious, but a long term common ground needs to be goal IMHO ;)

The problem down here Andy is getting the clubs to run a one day way in the past they did now no one wants to work together, yes the miami club runs a one day club race but that is all Gas, Broward there is not really a club only one person in it so for them to run a one day be out of the question so i really dont see one day races down here Robert

As far as know the GP series you can enter any class under IMPBA rules Gas /Nitro/Electric,you just have to have at LEAST 3 boats to make a class? Am I wrong. I have even seen Kem flying his crop duster around the pins, even taking a few people that have no FEAR for their own lives,up in the airplane. Otto,Jeff,Andy B. ,Jason B. ,and Eric Canto are just a few names that were there...just ask any one of them, they will be back. .....back to the topic you made the outboard race happen,I know you can make this one day race series happen. There are people that are willing to help you with it ,including myself. We are looking forward to making a lot of races this year...should be fun
