Since we are going back in time. Here is where I got my start in R/C boats. It's been 18 years ago and I can't remember what make tunnel it was and I think the other was called a War Machine. The mono was one I threw an outboard on for my son. I handed him my air brush and he had a blast painting it.

Wow, way back about 30-1/2 years ago.

I bought a Dumas DV 10 and dropped a Cox TD .051 in it, very disappointing. I bought a Dumas OB tunnel, the Hot Shot 24 I think that it was then a Hughey .21 'rigger, both of them I never finished. I started following this college kid around to the races in the area named Dave Homer back when Midwest, Hughey and Dumas OB tunnels were starting to be the thing to have.

I got out of boats for a while and went back to crashing planes and running on and off-road cars and trucks before returning to boats about 14 years ago. I got into OB tunnels again with a couple of electrics before getting into nitro.

lol... im a young buck,,, tower hobbies turbo vee was my first rc boat ever... within a month i was onto a kyosho viper with (if i remember correctly) a gp .15 dang engines had brass bushings on the crank instead of bearings,,, that engine wore quick,,, ecspecialy with me tellin my buddies," lean is mean".....lol....

brings back memories....lol...

First boat was a half-gallon cardboard carton of milk cut lenghthways in half with one D-cell battery with scotch taped leads to a plastic outboard cliped on the back of it that always waited for the next rain for some good mud puddles.

Dumas Drag N Fly 40 with HB 61 sideblower with a Nitro pipe , 3 piece hard shaft ...first year went through 3 motors and about 6 cranks and rods just messing around ..I'll scan some pics in later .

My first boat (no pictures) was a Luis Durand 20 outboard Water Spider rigger.

hogged out the exhaust outlet on the K&B 21, ran 50% fuel and a JG E-20T.

Ran like crazy. loved that boat. The guys in the club named it the 2 X 4 due to it not

having the cowl. that's what it looked like out on the water come to think of it. :D :D

Dumas DV 20 with a K&B Outboard. That was in 76 and Pops put together a 50 inch Daniels with a OPS 60, can you say HOOK. He used a piece of Mahogany to make the Deck. In 79 I got a Prather 40 and we ran a OPS 40. I remember a Modified Daniels hull that was being run then that was extreemely fast with a .67 Had a lot of fun. Ran a Sightler after the Prather.

This will be my third year into boats. I started with me and my son buying a proboat Shockwave 36, nice boat! then the monster in me came out now I have a whole storage area full of newer and faster with a secret one for next spring.

I wont live up to my very first e-bay 9.99 special - so we will start here

The first half real one was my Villian EX with all the mods for the day- lol

From there it went to the biggest joke rc EVER developed ;)

The EX was much more fun BTW - LOL
I started with a tether boat at 9 years old, went to RC planes with a bonner push button brick radio, first Rc boat was a dumas tunnel with one of the first K&B 21 outboard with slide valve exhaust, then a eldeablo 21 hydro with the K&B 21 outboard,

seems like it was just yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
