Doc,

You are correct, that boat is unbelievably fast.

Not sure another 45 hydro can beat it.

90+ MPH in heat race trim.

Awesome Boat,

Mark Sholund

Rod and Andy,

I doubt any of the top five boats were any faster than Doc's boat.

The thread is about a great pipe on a CMB -45 VAC.

If Doc would tighten his boat down a little bit it would be hard to beat.

Thanks,

Mark Sholund

Mark ,

Doubt all you want but the fact is my 80 mph is faster than your 90 mph!

Mark Rod killed all the classes he was in hands down wasn't even close. His boats were dialed in on the set ups and drove far superior to every one that went up against him. Pass you guy's later Charlie

Mark,

First I must say that I am not here to minimize Doc's fast boat or Scotties great pipe. I'm just pointing out FACTS that you seem to over look.

Doc told me himself that his boat had seen "85, 86, maybe 87mph". His words to me. That's not 90+.

Yep! If he would tighten it down a little bit it would drop down to 80 mph like everyone else who can finish four heats, mill, get good starts and drive in traffic.

Andy and Rod,

After talking with Doc he found he had a bad throttle management sensor go bad in the

radio box. It has since been replaced. Scott forgot to tell Doc how the sensor works.

Have Fun Testing In The Sunshine,

Mark Sholund

The much 45 pipe is a very competitive also.

Same with Andy's parobolic pipes are also if you can find one.

I seen Doc's boat at Hobart in September and it was the fastest .40 boat on the pond. In one of his early heats he came off bouy 3, pulled the trigger and walked away (and I mean walked away) from some of the stiffest competition there. It was awesome to watch, believe me. However, I'm glad it was Doc driving it and not me. That boat was loose and all over the place. Not what I would consider the best heat racing boat at the race but definitely fun to watch. But not near as much fun as listening to Doc talk about it.

Well luckily there is a Record trials in Ala. this month...if Doc can break away from the family he can shut us all up with one pass. At 90+ he might even give Martin T. a run for his money in the oval. Like Andy said Doc's boat is fast...Scott B.'s pipe's are a work of art and they work. I own a 45 Bouchie pipe myself. I race the CMB Nitro pipe for now on my JAE 45. Pipe length 9 to 9 1/4 center to center. I use to be able to run 8 1/2 on the SG...wish I could do that now.

Doc,

It was not your post. Your boats are always fast [strolling] and I enjoy racing with you. No disrespect intended.

Glad to hear the sensor issue has been resolved and the boat was tightened up.

Stan,

Don't quote me on the 90+ deal. I just said it was the fastest .40 boat at Hobart, but not pretty. Lol I've never seen a 90+ .40 hydro in person myself. Just a bunch of people that claim they can run 90+.

Stan, you were not at the lake the day your dad and I got that 45 SG/Picco/Russian pipe combo running 90+ in oval trim. 97 mph to be exact!

It was 1998, just over 15 years ago!

That old Russian pipe was thin as a beer can. I think your dad still has it.

You are correct...and yes we still have the pipe you are talking about. The pipe almost has no stinger and a HUGE I.D,

Everyone reading this post...I think I can speak for most of the one's venting, including myself. The people in D3 might sound like we are tightly wound people...that is not the case. We are a very tight group of boater's. Sometimes I think this txt/post can come across wrong. I myself have respect for EACH person on this post. Some feather's got ruffled and should not have...even I am guilty of that. Like FAST FOLEY says...shut up and let's race.

Just interested in what pipe is a really good all round with the CMB 45 VAC. Testing water is very limited in my area at this time. Thanks
Ron, Any input on what pipe worked for you on the VAC 45? If I remember correctly you won D Hydro at Hobart, Congarts! What pipe did you use there? Thanks!

Hi Andy,I ran my old Picco Blackhead with your Parobolic. I ran out of test time with the VAC set up. Summer will tell more, it's snowing here today lol.
