Any high quality air tool, transmission, light motor oil, etc., after flushing first with the WD40 which helps remove any fuel and moisture residues. Remember to also flush out the cooling jacket with something like Corrosion X. I use ample amounts at each step, and leave the crankcase full of oil which will then seep through the bearings to prevent corrosion. I've done this for 20 years after learning from those before me.

Everybody has there favorite. Mine is outboard fogging oil. Protecting bearings is what its made for. It also foams up and coats everything, and does not require re oiling every couple of months like some other options.

This is a topic that I'm very interested in. Recently, I bent the ear of a heli buddy of mine that mixes his own fuel. I asked for a gallon of 20% oil (synthetic) and the balance of alcohol (0% nitro). I run this through the motor when I'm done for the day.

Believe it or not, the motor (O.S. .21 XMVII; Bone stock) actually runs on this zero-nitro stuff. I run it until it warms up, and then starve it. Anyone else using a method like this, or are you all using oil, or some other method (other than the methods listed here)?

The. Worlds best is the one you make yourself. Using any or all of the mentions above. Just have a water displacement as in WD-40

I mix 50% ATF and 50% Rislone. The ATF is thin enough to flow anywhere and the Rislone is viscous enough to not just entirely drip out.

Guys, this is all good advice for the after run oil...just don't use any WD40 in your Nova motors with the silicon ramp! I use Corrison X and it work great to get the water out and keep things shiny inside.

Most Aussie boaters use this technique, followed up with flushing ATF through the engine.

I have seen this before at the races and Is a nice way and not so messy. Anyone know of any down sides using this method? I haven't tried it myself and do the 50/50 mix, but with that said, I believe trans fluid also attracts moisture.

I clean the motors I run with alcohol and then follow up with Rislone Engine Treatment.

I am looking at the fogging oil as I think that is the next thing to try for me. In storage of

your motors we set the motors in a stand vertically with the flywheel side down so the oil

can lube the small bearing. This was suggested to me by a very smart motor guy.

Thanks For Sharing Your Receipes,

I have used ATF, regular oil and lately corrosionX.

I think they all work,.. I asked how much to use years ago. A smart guy told me to run through as much oil. ATF or whatever, until I thought it was all flushed out and lubed,.. and then do it again.. Works for me.. I think it's all about getting the water and alcohol out, as alcohol attracts moisture..

I used WD40 for a while but I don't think it has enough lubricant in it.. gets water out though..
