All that have run both boats which is faster? just curious I like to buy a .21 rigger some day.

All Riggers are Fast if setup correctly. The JAE boat is breaking a lot of records.

The JAE will ultimately be faster through the corners. Its also easier for the novice to set up and go fast right away. Its just progression and hull design gets better every year.....

There are way to many variables to correctly answer that question....I truly believe if 10 different people built JAE's and the same for the SGX, The oval times of the JAE's would average much better, especially in race water. Once youve seen a JAE run and turn in race water, youd understand. It just stays hooked up better and is lights out in the corners.

I guess the best way to find out is to get the guy who designed the Eagle SGX to build one and then get the guy who designed the JAE go out to a straightline and a two lap find "ONE" driver to drive both and see what conclusion you come up with. One might say choose the same engine, pipe, and prop for both boats but each boat may have it's own characteristics it likes best... so leave that part open... Get ONE driver so at least that variable is the same and see which one has the best times.

"Which boat is best" can only be settled on the lake while competing against each other. We may get a real good clue at the Fall Nationals in Charleston in October. The 20/B Hydro class has Roadrunners, Eagles, Cougar, JAE, Jaguar, Hummingbird, Firefighter, and I am sure some other brands entered. It always comes down to the best boat and best driver winning the class. In 2009, it was Steve Ball in his Jaq III, and he has a new one for 2010.

I also know of at least one other JAE 67 that will be in the race too. I am sure more will appear at the race.

I love my Eagle SGX 45.....Pure driving pleasure.

I still look at while I am driving and can not believe how beautiful it looks on the water.

I will if Andy is still making the hulls order another Eagle SGX from him for sure.

My hull is 3 years old with out a single stress crack anywhere.

Just a well designed, well built awesome looking hull.

I am in the process of building the JAE .12 to see what all the fuss is about.

I know this does not answer your question....but I just raced my Eagle SGX yesterday

and I know that hull is why I continue to race.

From Andy Brown or cdmracing.com, i called the other day and they said they are still making hulls so..

I BUILT A JAE 12 AND VERY HAPPY WITH ITS PERFORMANCE, I BUILT AND HAVE BEEN RUNNING A EAGLE SG 80 FOR 10 YEARS. THIS BOAT ALWAYS RUNS GREAT AND NEVER LETS ME DOWN. I JUST REBUILT IT THIS WINTER SO I CAN GET A FEW MORE YEARS OUT OF IT. BUT I AM WORKING ON A JAE 80. THEY WILL HAVE THE SAME ENGINES (PICCO 80) THEN I WILL BE ABLE TO DO A FAIR COMPETITION.

Well, here's my short story on why the JAE is ahead of the eagle.....now, the eagles are still great boats, and can win at any race as well but.... I was out with my JAE 21 running a stock N/R 5 port with a woods tuned pipe. Boat and engine were new, never run. I also had my tried and true old eagle sg 21 that I have won district championships with and numerous race weekends with me. I ran the Jae about 12 times on a sunny afternoon and the first run showed good speed right away. I ended up running an Andy Brown prepped 1445 with 3.3" cup. Boat was by now running awesome and the cornering was ballistic. What a fun boat to drive. You have to experience it to know the feeling.

I then threw in the eagle with the AA21 and it ran like always. Good speed but the corners were no contest. I was so used to the JAE. I kept waiting for the corner to end and wondering when it would get out the other side. The JAE is much quicker through the corners. I have since sold the eagle to Julian.....thats my experience.

ewwwwwwww you sold me a slow boat lol ;-) eagle has made it to my room thanks buddy. In my experience being fast does not mean you will always win the race just a thought....

I have talked to a lot of people and i have learned that it is hard to get a new eagle sgx these days and the price tag of a new one is a bank breaker, I learned that you can build a JAE for like under 200 bucks, I know when I bought my .45 eagle sgx is was like 900 bucks money well spent but very pricey. Can you even get a new eagle sgx through CMDI andy brown?

Hey Julian....nothing wrong with that eagle.....for me it was all about...... "time for a change" as riggers were starting to get stail and meaningless. The Jae kind of brought some life into it. And sometimes its nice to actually build a boat as was Rods intentions with the JAE. Next is a 45, then a 67.....and on.....

ROB i know lol its a beutiful boat and runs like a dream. thanks for selling it to me very cheap lol.

Beu Parsons you can try to talk to Roger Hooks Jr. he will be the hook up ok
