Front mounted radio box & fuel cell is under the right deck right at CG. If you look closely you can see where CG is marked with two black lines inside tub behind the motor. B)

In NAMBA the position of the drive dog is what is regulated. Two years ago when NAMBA was considering transom mounted struts, Mark Anderson converted his Mutt to a transom mounted strut. He ran it at the Freemont Grand Prix race and couldn't see any difference from the previous strut position.

I think that is a Speedmaster mbdv strut for 3/16 cable They also have a new sport hydro strut with a flat bottom and extended also. It should work on 20, 40 and scale boats.

Sport 40 was supposed to simulate the unlimited light hydroplanes, I have never seen one of them with a transom mounted strut.  Don't see the big deal about everyone wanting to transom mount a strut anyway, there is not a advantage to this on a 3 point hydro, I proved this 20 years ago with an old Octura "Whie Heat IV" hydro, modified the rear of the hull from 4 point to 3 point built 2 of them one with the strut under one with the strut on transom.  Actually the boat with the strut under the hull ran and handled better.

Cool pics, they are very help full. The turn fins that I have seen some are offset and some are strait down. What makes the differance positions work?

My current setup on my SS45. I was able to mount the brackets on the transom so that there wouldn't be any bolts hanging down. It might be hard to see in the shot.
