The Brandon Model Boaters will be hosting WCRA race #5 September 20th and will be dedicating it to the memory of Herb Stewart. All proceeds of this race will be donated in Herb's name to a charity to be determined in conjunction with Herb's son Jeff.

Jeff will be in attendance and will bring along a collage of photo memeries of his Dad. He will also be offering some of his memories of his Dad's racing days.

You will want to sign up early for this one as we will be limiting the entries to 54 total heats, which is what we feel is manageable for a one day event.

On line entry is open at rcracingevents.com for both Paypal and mail in entries. You can also download a mail-in entry at www.brandonmodelboaters.com

Late entry fee is in effect after September 10th and entries are closed after September 17th. Classes will be closed as they are filled.

Come on out and have fun!

Just a few tips for those who enter online.

1, You do NOT have to register to enter a race using rcRacingEvents.com. Just go to the race you are interested in and enter it.

2, You can pay via PayPal, or check (U.S. Mail) using rcRacingEvents.com.

If you are planning on attending this race please note that John Otto will be at the Indy Masters race and will not be available for all your last minute orders of fuel, etc.

I am told that his parts inventory should be at the race as usual, but if you will need fuel, best not wait until the last minute or you will be out of luck.

Entries will be limited, and classes which have had poor support this year will be dropped in favor of those classes with major support.

Don, what classes have been dropped?

Don, what classes have been dropped?

As of today I have only removed Crackerbox (zero entries all season) and C Hydro (Zero entries this season at Brandon). I fully expect to scratch Scale and Sport 40 also. This hurts because these are the classes I run!

I have added two electric classes to make a total of three. Thanks to Jeff Westbrook for organizing the electric guys fo P Mono, LS Hydro, and OPC Tunnel. Supposed to be full heats of each. Somewhere Herb is smiling about that!

I intend to run two heats of Open Mono and Open Offshore. All other classes will be limited to 1 heat (per round) If other classes drop, I may add extra heats depending on demand.

I already have 12 Open Mono's so if you plan to run this class, better hurry up and enter. Only four slots left.

Entries can be viewed ar rcracingevents.com . This listing is only for those that have used the on line signup and may not include entries mailed in to Gene.

Even though i done absolutly nothing to support scale or Sport 40 this year, i hate to see that happen...i PROMISE next year i will run sport 40 and if i can get a 2nd scale boat together, ill run it too....i just dont have the energy like my buddy "GO FAST" to run five classes...wish i did! :)

Must be that Monster Energy thing B)

See you guys soon- keep a spot open in the garage, I may need it Pop :p

I'm just trying to figure out how classes like RTR can be offered and not C Hydro or Open Hydro ??? These can be some of the most exciting and competitive classes out there . Even if they are offered as alternate classes they certainly will get some adrenalin flowing if other low attendance classes don't make the program . :(

I think C hydro and Open hydro classes are awesome...but how many new boaters do you think will run em? There needs to be ONE class that at least offers a new boater the opportunity to try to race something that runs at speeds less than 80+ MPH! DONT BE DISSIN RTRS "GO FAST"....pick on some other class! :) I DO love watchin the fast boats and would love to see more of em showin up....hate to see any of the "traditional" classes dropped!Dont know how it can be fixed unless the boats show up.

I for one LOVE watching the twins run Tom , esp at Brandon- the lake size makes em look faster too ;)

You guys got bumped for F/E classes  Kidding....

But, we do still have Derby Mono- I mean Open Mono , thats always interesting to say the least

I still have not figured out with the class turnouts why we just dont split the nitro and gas boats, I started running the class because of the killer wars that you-tommy-gene-donny ect had in X-Mono , not to run in a 18 boat class of 75% gas boats- no offense to the gas crowd.

It was a different race (imho) thats all :)

And yes Bill, I agree , there needs to be a place for the entry level guy too-

but, ****

I would rather watch X-Hydro's run ANYDAY....

Ed, I will try and not give Moms new hotrod too bad a spankin,

Im just gonna have a hard time remembering WHICH yellow boat NOT to lap......

Tom et all,

As I stated in my earlier post, NOT ONE ENTRY this year in C Hydro at a Brandon race. Why should we continue to offer it when the entries for other classes are continuing to increase? I will be dropping classes after the late entry deadline tomorrow and if we wind up with 50 open monos, so be it.

The only way this can change is for racers to sign up early enough to allow us to organize our race properly. As of right now, the nitro classes are all very poorly attended.

BTW, if an entry is received after tomorrow, the late fee will be due and this will be enforced.

Andy, Ive been pittin for Tom in X-Hydro and X-Mono for years..got the gray hair to prove it...Twin engine hydros to me are the most exciting boats to watch in model boat racing..would love to have one...but they have to show up...i dont even remember the last time i saw a single engine 90 hydro run in X- hydro...wouldnt be great to see 8-10 X-hydros and 8-10 C-hydros show up at a race? But we all had start somwhere!! :)If i sound like a staunch advocate for the begineer or the poor guy, then i guess.. guilty as charged! :D See ya at brandon...(hope Toms still speakin to me after this!)

i guess the frustration for me anyway is that the classes are not listed so there fore have no possibility of being attended . At the Tampa race Marty pushed for C Hydro and we had a class and I for one dusted off my boat and now had a renewed interest in it . The Open Hydro class in Tampa also was well attended because it was offered . Anyway , not bitchin , I appreciate the hard work by the clubs putting on the races ..just the point of removing the class from the roster assures it will be dead and not entered .

I don't see ya'lls names on the Charleston list?

I'll miss not seein you guys there this year.

Rick
Yeh Rick Barb and I miss seeing you at the races to. Just can't get away from work for 4 days this year.

Were cut back like most everybody else and I don't have a backup (I trust) to run the plant.

Hope you and the family are doing well.
