Im building one for a buddy is there a setup sheet that anyone has ?The one thing I need to figure out is the turn fin mount .Most everything else is easy just want to do it right.

Bruce, you talking about the Warlok 21? I don't have a build sheet, but I have lots of pics of mine as well as others to give you some hints.

yes 21 size the sponson have two drilled holes not sure if you put a insert or if theres provisions all ready in place

The turn fin does it help to extend past the sponson or mount it to the side of sponson?Also what fin is that?

In the pictures above there are two different turnfins. Where you see the yellow rear sponsons that was running the stock curved turnfin. In the pics with the orange rear sponsons I switched to a Raptor turnfin from a P-hydro. I ended up copying the bracket from the Raptor and moved the turnfin rearward to make rudder input less aggressive.

I always felt having the fin behind the ride surface was a better pivot point most riggers I ran were like that ,like the older eagle sg I use to run

Did you have any issues with the rear exhaust motor?Like getting the hull to settle without being to flighty

No Bruce I did not. My main problem was with the rear sponson design. The low leading edge of the rear sponsons tended to dive when launching the boat and unless you hucked it and pinned the throttle to get on plane immediately it would struggle to get up when water was going over the rears. I ended up shaving off the rear sponsons and made a new pair with a higher on the tub leading edge. This solved the launching issue. Once up on plane the boat was very stable. It is not as fast as some flat plane designs like the JAE or Nexgen but it handles race water nicely and drives consistently. No indication of being flighty.

Do you think the launch issue was due to the rear exhaust motor being heavier towards the rear of the tub

At least in my setup no, it was the position of the leading edge of the rear sponsons. I know the Roadrunners and other rear sponson style riggers run near identical setups and don't have this issue, but mine would suck the transom down if had a normal launch. I only moved the leading edge up a 1/4" and that solved my problems.

A quick fix to a boat that wont get up in the rear is a short 1/2x4 inch ski right at the stuffing tube exit

I just checked there is threaded insert in the sponson haven’t started putting it together yet found a turn fin Mark had one that Chris used a zipkitts with a bracket that extends it to correct location also got some mc9 plugs so basically looking for a tank we lost one of are dogs yesterday lost my brother last week been a bad week brother in law went down thought we lost him but he is ok flew him to Iowa city in a chopper.So next week will start on the build so far it has a new cmb rear exhaust with new header and nitro pipe speed master hardware bob violet third channel standard,two micro servos flex shaft h7 prop woods push rod seals.One other thing do you put inserts in the tub to hold sponson tubes down or drill tru tub and use screws tru the bottom or just use collars to hold tubes in place.The way the front tube is do you need to add a piece of wood under the tube ?Looks like there’s just the holes in the side?Theres a gap under the tube.

Bruce, the front end is a little unique. In my kit the front boom just slides through the tub without any boom blocks, only the collars to keep the boom from moving side to side. Work's OK, but it would be nice to have more adjustment on the front with blocks and shims.
