Update . they changed the TPS and IAC and it's still missing down low . no codes being available . I'm thinking yank the injectors and have them cleaned ? Thought from the experts . not much left .

Is there any service port that the injectors can be flushed with before you go that far- I thought most Ford and Chrysler's did ???

I dont know that to be true on your's Tom, one of the Ford Matsers can help ya here..............

Bite the bullet get a Ford dealer to just Diag it.In the long run its cheaper than throwing dice. Fords diagnostic equipment is light years ahead of the competition

Tom, what mike said is true, the Ford scan tool has some very cool diagnostic screens and can get to the bottom of it real easy. none of the aftermarket scan tools can hold a candle to the Ford tool. hate to say it but some times the dealer is the best for repairs, sometimes you end up wasting time and money that gets you no where.

your van has a fuel pressure port that an injector clean can be done through, can be a lot less in labor to do it that way than remove all injectors an clean, just be sure that whom ever does the job has the correct cleaner to do a thorough cleaning. good luck, wish you were closer to mike or myself, we could get you going in no time.

I'm betting a plug fouled by the service ate a coil. tom, ford coils are a lot like mercury stators - just sayin'..........

Tom just had a problem with my Trailblazer SS keep throwing a code. Clear it out and after driving and shutting it of it would pop up again. Air intake system it said.

Finally took it to the dealer and it was fixed the same day Saturday.

MAF sensor was the code. Thy put on a new one from stock and it would still trow it.

Bad connection in the harness.

Now imagine if I took it to Joe blow. He buys a new MAF sensor and it did not fix it. Well you know who would pay for that non returnable item and all the time and messing around.

I always take mine to the dealer. Thy never did me wrong yet. If it is not right thy stand behind it .

I hear you Mike , I'm giving them till noon tomorrow then having AAA flatbed it to Ford .
Tom

I just went thru this with my 2004 van, replaced 1 coil on left bank, did not help so we replaced the other three on that bank and that cured the problem, has 216000 thos miles on it runs like a charm, Btw the repair shop charged me $111.95 the first time for the labor and the new coil, second time charged $120.00 PLUS TAX FOR THE 3 NEW COILS, and no labor which I thought was a very good deal, good luck.

I have a Ford MKZ rental right now. It's a nice car,.. but to me it's like burden to drive. Doesn't fit me really.. I had a VW CC a couple times a few weeks back. That was a smaller car with most of the same features,.. I liked it better.. easier to get around.. just a preference..

I've been holding back on that comment for a while Dave!!!
Let me know how many vehicles you have had for 280,000 miles and put less than 1000.00 into ??? Hmmm didn't think so !!! Have you even driven 280,000 miles in your lifetime ? This is the 3rd E - 350 van I have had and they have all been great . I had 3 other Chevy vans and after 75000 miles or so all I did was work on them so lets not pick on the brand hotshot LOL I've got over a million miles under my stretched belt and done lots of work on vehicles but mostly on older ones with carbureted engines .

This thing still has an off idle hesitation it never had so it's going to the dealer for sure .

I'm still betting TPS from the fog job, makes perfect sense - bad spot in the potentiometer .

Keep us posted Foley- and dont worry Anthony , he gets a little cranky when his rides aren't right :p

I'm thinking coil or injector. Wife's car had a bad coil and ran rough as heck. Had it changed and the problem was gone. Had an injector on my car get fouled. A good cleaning of the fuel rails and injectors fixed that one as well

Ford has a KOER test in there diagnostic. I use a Snap On Verus and the best thing about Ford Diag is the Mode 6. Lots and lots of data for Ford in Mode 6. If your using a after market scan tool. Go Into Mode 6 of the model. Then go into PID 53. That's the misfire monitor PID. Then look at the cylinders. It's worth a try.
