A friend of mine cleaned an old engine for me using a mixture of cascade and dish soap in his Ultrasonic cleaner and it worked very well it started me thinking that there may be something even better out there .

So what are you using in yours?

Thanks Tim

A tablespoon of ammonia to one cup of water.

It's a heated ultrasonic and I've wondered about the antifreeze trick.

Tim If the engine is disassembled. Just run the case & alum parts thru the dish washer with the casacade & heat cycle. Buuuuuuutt. Wait till the wife is in bed. & dont forget it..... It really pisses those women off to find a RC engine in the dish washer.

Yup, it's hard enough explaining why an engine case is in the oven & bearings are in the freezer.

You guy's are great

Sad to say I have tried that but I never got caught B) .

After using an Ultrasonic cleaner I can tell you that there is no comparison at all.

I placed an old engine part in it this morning that I tried to clean and after five minutes it came out looking like new.

Awsome little unit and worth every penny especially if you do your own engine mods ;) .

About a month before Becky & I got married, she brought her mother over to my townhouse only to find a tore down 427 in the living room & a CR125 in the bedroom. She took it well until a friend of mine fired up the bike and rode it out the door.

Yeah,

my wife nearly had a heart attack when I took her diamond ear rings and diamond ring out and left them on top of the coffee pot so I could clean my brand new K&B engine in her Ultra Sonic jewelry cleaner. You should have seent he crap that came out of that new motor!

And I do like Prop Jockey, Ammonia and water.

Hey Terry

I picked it up off E-Bay it is a very basic unit just large enough for engines.

It is made by Crest model 175 T it is a half gallon unit and is not heated.

Heated units are very expensive and I think I could boil water without burning it LOL

Actually hot tap water seems to be working just fine.

I have tried a couple different items and I am very pleased considering I paid just over a hundred dollars for it.

Even tried an engine case that I thought was clean only to be supprised how much dirt was in the water after a few minutes in the cleaner.

I picked one up at Harbor Freight for $35.00 It works great, but isn't big enough for a Zenoah engine. :p
