Andrew says he modifies the 3.5 pipe to run on the .12 and .15.

I wonder if you could modify the outboard pipe as well. Could be interesting with the built in 180.

Just came back from the pond after some pipe testing.

Really liked the MIP stinger pipe. Real quiet and man does it pull some RPM's. I was using the MACS 2.5 pipe at 9" to the center of the plug and the way it's made you can't get it short enough without changing the entering diameter of the pipe. If the belly of the pipe started further out then it would not be an issue.

Eric,

what engine are you using? that's in a cat right?

i'll be ordering about 500$ worth of stuff for my new project [a .12 mono im building for a cousin], and part of that is a MAC 2.5 to go on a Sirio Outlaw...Ron Olson said he had trouble with his MIP stinger pipe's pressure fitting hole being too large, has that happened to anyone else?

maybe i should make a last-minute switch to the MIP....??

Eric...is this on a Traxxas 2.5? What header length/diameter?

Joe...the instructions for the MIP said to push the pressure tubing itself into the pipe...no pressure fitting required.

PJ, I've seen some of the other small block motors that hook theirs up this way and it just doesn't look trustworthy to me. I just JB Welded a fitting in mine to be on the safe side. If there's one thing that I can easily do to make the boat more reliable, I'll do it. I have enough problems it seems like as it is. :p

Eric, there is a lot of pipe that can be cut off from the Mac to get it down to length or you can remove header material if needed but that hasn't been a problem for me yet.

The engine in question is the Traxxas 2.5 and the hull is a cat. I'm spinning a S215 that has had the outer tips of the blade rounded to let the engine spool up.

I also tried a stock S215 but the engine would fall off the pipe on the corners. I also tried a heavily cut down S220 but it also would fall of the pipe.

I'm using a stock associated NTC3 header and a stock MIP Stinger pipe with a std. silicone coupler.

Ron, I do have a MACS pipe that I've cut down -it's just that the entrance to the pipe is not the same diameter as the header. I guess this is not a big problem as long as the length is correct.

I still have not had any issues with the pressure line coming out of the hole on the MIP Stinger pipe. I think it has to do with the type of fuel tubbing that you use. I'm using thick walled tubbing and it was a *itch to get it. I doubt if it will ever fall out -I guess time will tell...

This is the next pipe that I will try it comes stock with the Hobbico Nitro Hammer, loolks like it will work.
