good run Mr. Siler. OPS power impressive.
these are the newest modded motors that I got from Andy they also have the newest version's of OPS internals knife edged Rod cut and lighted pistons with boost ports and liner with Andy's 45 mac carbs they hall man. Even though the motors are heavy you can see it takes nothing to dam near blow it off the water if you hit the gass to hard.
good to know about new OPS .90's
Charlie,

Where is the best place to get the Big Block OPS 90's and parts?

Dave at got nitro on line can get the newest parts and I'm checking with him if he would order them.

http://www.gotnitroonline.com/

Also all 7 motors I have I got on Ebay for 2 to $400 each and then got new parts to update the older motors.

The other is an English company for 385 pounds.

this is good.

Yeah, Mantua (supposedly) is the owner, and world distributor, of OPS engines

Not bad since it comes with pipe and header.

What's the overall width of this engine?

Thanks.

Ray when I first started this twin I asked Andy at CMDI if he would modded the motors he was the one that came up with the carbs and carb spacers the mac 45 carbs flow better than the stock ones . As far as finding one or a pair there have got to be a hundred guy's on IW that have them sitting around . Start a thread and there will be there IW is sweet for finding parts. There are other options RPM Carbs , OS 9B carbs CMB carbs if you want a low end setting . But sense Zoom and Or license aren't making carbs . The mac's are all over and depending Andy can set you up on spray bar sizes to find tune. Ho ya you have to make the spacer . You can get a remnant from a industrial metal place. If you need pics I'll pm to ya it's not hard to make them.
Pass ya later Charlie

Hi Charlie those Sponsons and that Turn fin will make your boat turn better and those sponsons will defiently handle the race n rough water better ,great stuff Charlie let us know what you think after testing might have to make a set myself ,its funny but my turn fin is roughly the same size but a little thicker to take the flex out but the boat turns alot better. Cheers Ace

Brett,

Charlie has the 45" Twin 90. We modified a set of sponsons from the new 47" Twin to fit Charlie's 45" boat. The turn fin is similar to the one we are using the new 47" boat.

Andy may i ask as to why the longer boats , my boat is 43"and i had to shorten the struts to help get more prop weight to stop the boat lifting in the rear an spinning the boat along with a longer rudder, a bigger turn fin similar to Charlies and moved it forward about 1/2' inch. To me the longer boat would give the prop more leverage to lift the *** easier ,just wondering thats all, can understand the bigger sponsons as just ran the nats here in aussie and was bloody rough first time i have ever seen my boat stuff and blow off mind you didn't ease off the throttle one bit an always on the last lap bugger ,I only go to race rain ,hail or shine luv it ,Cheers Ace

Brett, I think you have the twin 67/84 boat with CMB 91's. The extra weight and power of the engines are the cause of you needing to make adjustments to improve handling. It is very rare for a twin SGX to stuff or blow off at any speed.

If you will simply slide the front sponsons forward about 2", you will gain the transom weight that you need and have a longer boat at the same time.

But when moving the sponsons forward be sure to move the fin back on the sponson about the same amount.

P.S. Charlie's new sponsons are not only bigger, they have less AoA than the original set. The end result is to run smoother on rough water and still support the weight of big engines and fuel tanks.

Andy have found the problem my turn fin was bent or sorry more straitened ,the boat has never ever done that before ( blow off or Stuff ) even in rough water ,I repaired my bent turn fin after a crash with an other boat and have weakened it ,the boat is defiantly a 90 boat as it was to originally have two OPS 90's in it,, I bought it as a kit and put the RS 91's in it ,its one awesome boat as you have seen from the videos I still think there is more in it but have no time for development at the moment ,still got the fastest heat time of the recent nationals with it operating wide and rough as hessian undies water , I origianlly purchased the boat back in 2008 but the boat was older ,it had been on Brain Mckellars shelf for a while ,then on my shelf for a year before I built it ,I love operating it ,truly an awesome boat . Cheers Ace

Ok sounds great Brett! That would have been one of the first Twin 90 SGX-2's built in 2006.
