Hap,

try this link scorchinscooter.com they sell 6 different models, you'll have to do a little modifing to make them marine, water jacket, drive collet. Anyway check it out see if thats' what you have in mind.

Yea.... I was thinking of putting one in a forabuck hull off ebay and naming it either "Big Splash" or "Sinner"! :D

Thanks Tom.

Check out the prices on the mod kits. The Superior parts interchange with the Zenoah. The chinese made a duplicate of the Zenoah and called it Superior. My concern is the quality of the materials, I don't know have not seen one up close.

I have the new 27cc cylinder, workmanship is top notch, the chrome looks even better than Zenoahs.

1. Zenoah doesn't make a 27cc.

2. If you bought a car in the last 20 years it has parts "knocked off" Japan.

Like Tim said, it is a $$ thing, it happens in all forms of life, we are all after the most bang for the buck! If Zenoah had a patent then Superior could not have built it.

So what you are saying is that if someone was making a copy of Tom's firefighter or Mike's villan or ninja, you would buy it if it was cheaper. Am I right?

To be perfectly honest here, it would be a balance between $ and loyalty. If it were finacially posible for me to buy an Original than I would, but if the original was out of my price range and I could buy a knock off for a lot less, then I would think about it. I would make the desision on what I could live with. The Superior engine is a great example, the Zenoah RC 230 is about $260 and the Superior $130, for half the price I can live with a knock off. The Solo engine was the first RC engine with 4 ports, does this mean Zenoah "knocked off" them? Is it worse or better if a "knock off" gets "knocked off" a second generation?

I do believe it is unethical to knock off a product in such a fashion and of course I would take that into consideration if purchasing. I guess the big question is "what is the price for brand loyalty?"

I wonder why we don't see Zenoah doing or saying anything about it? The whole thing with Zenoah dealers selling the Superior engines seems a bit strange to me. After all if one of my retailers were selling the competitions product I would want to know why.

Would you buy the CD player stolen out of your neighbors car? How mad would you be if he payed 20 bucks for yours? Plain and simple, theft is theft.

Do you buy propellors / batteries / fuel / driveshafts /pipes etc. based on your statements in the last post?

I am not condoning copying whatsoever so please don't missinterpret my comments. I just re-read them and could see that it would be possible.

However I will say this - I use the Russian Built Kalistratov engines that have an amazing similarity to some of the Rossi's - to the point where parts are interchangable. Would I consider Rossi's because they are cheaper - no I would not. I buy the K motors because I feel they are superior in terms of machining and casting. Do I feel like I've bought something stolen - no way!

Hey guys,

Just had some guy e mail me with these links http://www.adaracing.com best prices for parts he has found. http://davesmotors.com Also, quote, "All parts are interchangeable except that if you use a Superior piston in a Zenoah or, vice versa, you also have to use the pin bearing and washer set to match the piston you are using." ;)
