Yes the gas tunnel class will be in the series. It will be raced at the World Tunnel Champs in Charleston Apr 30 - May 02. We will are planning for an open tunnel class too and it can run in it as well. Most will be nitro boats .45 and above but the gas can run in it too.

I'm gonna try and make it to the 2010 WTC race. I was hoping Steve would kick some butt with my boat at the last WTC race but that didn't happen. :huh: If you want something done right ya have to do it yourself. :blink:

Yes, the gas tunnel will be a firm class offered at each of the 4 intended races to be held. We are still working on the final classes and their names now since we are going to be a mix of NAMBA and IMPBA clubs so we are going about it carefully. But all classes will be the same among all 4 races.

When the race flyer for the World Tunnel Championships is announced in about a week or so, the classes will be identified for all of the races. At least that is our hopeful plan now. FE tunnels will be a part of the series and the WTC race.

Gas tunnels are definately going to be offered at all the STORM races. We cannot control who shows up and hope the Atwell clan will be there. Kind of depends on Mitches work schedule I guess as he is on board and looking forward to tunnel races. Like some other classes starting with smaller numbers it sure would help if guys would communicate between each other and see what people need to bring them out. I will be supporting the 40 muffler class and Mod V. Looks like gas will be allowed in open which will keep the smaller tunnels in check. Some real David and Goliath stuff there.

Charleston had the final word on class structure and names but many have put good thoughtful input into the process. As they come out with their flyer keep in mind the March event in Brandon for a tune up before the worlds. Series points on the line so get on the board. Also you can compete in the lap timming event and set the first Brandon course records.

P.S. Andy I havent forgot about you. Be prepaired to "shoe" (ok finger) an outboard in March. Be scared boys as outlaw tunnels are warming up.

WOW this sounds very good we can actuall run are gas outboards more than twice a year awesome.

well i would love to participate but i wont be home until sometime at the end of 2010 hopefully everything will be good and ill be racing 2011 in full strenth be safe.

this looks like it will be fun sounds good to me when i return.

We probably won't confirm a race date before the first event is completed. The WCRA hasn't made their schedule and we have options with Tampa and Gulf Coast clubs who we do not want to leave out if they are interested. So everyone that can support outboards lets make March6-7th and give us input and support.
