But keep in mind....if you cjoose to do one cowl over the other, or even better yet......if you decided to do two sets of plans, you'd need to make adjustments to the top deck. For the one with the dummy motor the area exposed needs to roll up and in, look at the Dark Green Ms. Bardhal picture and you'll see what I mean. The second set for a cowled engine cover it could just be straight down decking......does that make sense??

Yeah, I think I do , your talking about a "Tub" with the fake engine rising up out

of it. That'd have to be a two piece deal, one for the tub and one for the plastic

engine. Harder to do and it would catch water like mad  and I would think

that the plastic engine have to be "oversize" or it would be cut-up perdy good,,,

I don't know, what do you think  Am I on the right track??

But what I was referring to Jerry was the silver swoop in set on the sides of the Allison/Rolls Royce engines on the picture of the Bardhal. That should be incorporrated into the plan if you use a dummy engine. Most shovel noses are designed just like any other boat, just a straight drop down, meaning it looks like rails not a swooped rounded surface. Look on page 8, I put a pix that I said was one of my favorite hydros.

I know what your talking about though Jerry and it would drag up the water.

Now that I think about it Roy munoz and his son made a nice dummy motor for their 1/8 scale, I think it was the Ms Coast Gaurd or something. Next Time I drive up their I'll snap a picture of it. It was so simple it looked comlicated...  . It's a dummy motor glued onto a piece of wood that snaps in place with cabinet latches, very easy to remove. Nicely designed adn easy to go all out on details if you wanted to or not.

I have the "Climate Models Miss Supertest III" and they provide a Vacuformed

engine , firewall, seat and fin all in Two pcs. They can probably be bought from them maybe,,I don't know,,,I'm taking "great pains" in not revealing anything

specific about their boat concerning This project, I doubt that they would appreciate that,,,hope they'er not "ticked" already

I see what your talking about now............but all wswatzell would have had to do is buy one of the Climate models and get dimensions from it, make a few slight changes and alter it a little bit before declaring it his. He's obviously done the painstaking way of designing it his self so I don't think they'd mind if you shared a "slight" secret or two.

All that stuff, "cosmetics" will be determined by the Physical dimentions of the "stuff" you want to cover up  I would think. If so then we would have

to have the "scale" engine and mount in there,,possibly a "MAC 21" with the

proper pipe on there so we can see what we're covering up :)

The only .21 size inboard that I have to measure up to put into CAD, is a Nova Rossi. So that is what I had planned on using as my model to make sure everything fits in the engine bay.

as far as a dummy engine, That might be a little more involved than I want to do right now. I don't know; I’ll have to think about this one for awhile.

I here ya Wade,,I'm coming from a "Sport Scale" angle,,sumthin' "lean" and

"uncluttered",,,But Rodney,, Has To Have His "Bardahl" :lol:Bottoms UP!

But I think Bill, Gene and I are pullin' for a "Miss Geritol" :p

Yeah, those old Bardhal racers are using Geritol these days.........but I'll bet they wished they had Viagara as a sponsor now!

The Nova Rossi engine is good to go off of any ways because of the front exhaust. That'll make it easier for anyone who plans to use a front or rear exhaust since that's what the blue prints will be more designed around any how........I guess the next step is figuring how to run the pipe at a drop so it'll fit under the deck and cowl................I'll go back and look at the pictures, but one thing I remember on my Sport 40 shove was a thick brace of wood right across the front area in front of the motor mount, it worked great as a way to keep the fuel tanks securely in under the deck. For your plans that ould make i easier to get two 3oz or two 4 oz tanks up into the nose.

There Ya Go,,I like the "Hood",,,and the Name "Miss Geritol" :) Uhhh,,I was takin'

about ,,,,uh,,Bill Wilson! th,,that was it

I guess I'll let ya slide on that one, but if ya must have your viagra and geritol do what ya must, I'm a healthy 57 year old, don't drink or smoke my only vice is this darn hobby, " DEISNING & RACIN' R/C MODEL BOATS", and I love it.

I'll bet that cowl was designed in Area 54, Roswell New Mexice for the Ms. X-Files....

Just havin' a go....looks good.

That's the cowl on my Octura "White Heat 4-60" built it in 1983 and still have the cowl from it to put on the new one I am currently building. Want me to post some more shots of the cowl Wade? I can do a few different to give ya some help.

Hey Guy's

Just got caught up on reading posts, Im still following along with ya Wade,
