Two things...

First widen the sponsons out to about 14" inside to inside. Second find the center of gravity of the boat by setting it on a dowel til it balances on it. Then you want the trailing edge of the fin about an inch in front of that. When its too far forward its harder for the boat to pivot around it. Hope this helps.

my way of thinking with the set up would be definently widen the track width of the sponsons 4" right , 4 1/2" left and move the turnfin to the rear of that bracket already there, apl 60/40 turnfin a@ around the 50-55% mark. going forward will make the back of the boat overtake the front and become a real dog, when you get some serious power saddled up in it .

It looks like the bracket holding the turn fin is hanging down below the running surface of the sponson. If not below it is too close. You are getting a lot of drag from the bracket. It may just be the picture that makes the bracket look to low.

Its above the running surface I cheack. Think mifht mess with the sturt angle and that get a good set up and power in it.

Just saw this for the first time. Widen the sponsons out to 14 inches as Dave said. The tub can be centered in between the sponsons. Put a 30 degree bend on the turn fin.

That boat is over 18 years old and I don't remember the set up from back in the day. I would make a new turn fin that is deeper and with a roll on it. If the boat is turning slow, are you sure that you have enough servo for it or that it is good? How much throw is on the rudder servo? We probably had a lot more throw way back when.

You can also just drill a couple more holes in the turn bracket and move the turn fin further back to change the pivot point....

Thanks mike will do that I know shr she old but I like her and now I have some good power saddled in here got a Go 7port in her.
