Nitro,

I would like to know about that to.

The 67's must just have that optimum balance of hull size, weight etc, etc. Maybe someone can post the heat times to compare from a top level meeting like the nationals either from Oz or overseas.

Ian

The fastest heat time at the nationals was 1.08 and that was set by Steve Gruber with a CMB 80 powerd egal twin. But i have seen times down to 1.01 at club days and that was with a twin CMB 90's.

It depends a lot on the driver and setup on the day and the conditions but i did set the fastest time at the 2001 nationals and that was with a MAC67 Sprint witch was 1.08.

The 67 size boat is stabel enough to drive wright on the boys and this what you need to doo to set a fast time it can be done with a 90 boat as they will handel just as well you just have to drive on the boys.

You can allso do it wth a twin if you feel lucky and taken your brave pills.

CHD Racing Paul : :)

Paul,

I didn't know the twins were down to 1.01's, that is pretty good!

I shall be having a go with my single 90 to see what I can do, but I think Aaron's 67 will get fastest heat time if he can get it running!

I looked up the fastest heats of NAMBA nats for the last few years and the results aren't really conclusive.

In 2002 the fastest heat was by a 67: 1.07

for 90's it was 1.12 and for twins it was 1.24

In 2001 the fastest heat was by a 45: 1.17

for 67's it was 1.23 and for 90's it was 1.25

In 2000 the fastest heat was by a 90: 1.20

for the 45's it was 1.24 and for the 67's it was 1.31

So actually there is no pattern at all! ???

Ian.

Ian,

i think it all comes down to weather you get a clean run or not,

bill has run 1.01 at hunter valley!

Dale

Ian,

Have you weighed your hummingbird with a 67 instead of the 90? Is yours a 67/80 boat with the 90 in it?

Dale... So where is my boat??? huh???

EMS Racing Impatience is a virtue

Craig,

The 67 engine is about 200g lighter. My hull is a stretched version of the 67/80 boat, a bit longer and wider stance. I dont think it would be much heavier than the 67/80 boat. Say 1/2 a kilo max lighter, probably less than that.

Hey, let him finish fixing his first! :p

Ian.

My boat should be high priority!!!!

Now all I need is 2 90s... better get another order in...

:)

Hey Ian how much are the bolly pipes?? Think I better try one (or 2) just to see if I have been barking up the wrong tree....

EMS Racing double the fun

craig,

all the templates have been done for the hull, waiting on some good ply to make them out of, should have them done tomorrow, the glasser will only take a week or so with the tub,

sponsons,

i cut the foam for mine last night, just have to shape them now and them they are ready to lay up, if these ones come out good i will give them to you!

Dale

Been there....done that! Have a 70" Expresscraft I bought from a shop on consignment....it looked so bad! Twin Zen's /twin Kanellos(counter rotating). When I finally got it running it sounded and looked so good. But it was such a pain to work on those tightly fit in engines that I finally in disgust ripped them out and slid a 42cc Zen in place. Right after that I traded Marty for his Taz(JUST BAD) now I have a pair!

You get used to working on them, they are a pig to work on at times, but the sound is awesome!!

Dale

The problem with twins is everytime you want to try something you have to buy 2! Like 2 pipes, two props etc! Gets expensive! I have never driven one tho, I bet it is interesting! ;D

Ian.

;D I found twins to be awesome....but as others have noted ....twice the price ...twice the pain.... would not have another unless I was wealthy , and had someone else to do the work!!!! But GOD it was so awesome in sound and propwash and ..and....and.... :p
