thanks joe and bob.
We had it running 56 over the weekend.. it is a purple head motor. it was the first time out on the boat and the water was glass smooth so i know that doesn't do an favors for us.

we are running the prop you speak of so i know we have to be in the ball park.

now, what can you do to fix the boat hooking comming out of the corners.

thanks

chris
Chris, like I mentioned, the turn of the rudder has to be smooth and slowly progressive, use all the radio inputs

to attain this, too much rudder input, will cause hooking. Unless you have a really good feel for turning the boat

other wise. Also when coming out of a corner needs to be the same. Slow and smooth. The hull will react best to this.

Also, on flat water, you won't get much on a Seaducer, but you did try 2 pipes, which one was better???

hey mark,

The brown pipe needs to be drilled.. turning the plugs color.. will no more in a couple of weeks after we get back from the nats.

My father has a 45 seaducer sd 3..
Any of you guy's have a turn fin on the right side of the boat... I noticed the bigger boats do.. just curious if the 45 is supposed to..

also, and idea's on a ruff place to be on the strut height and angle.

thanks

chris
I have a seaducer - purchased in 1997 so it is not the latest model. However, my particular boat is exceptionally competitive to this day (2nd place at 1997 Internats; 2nd place at 2005 NAMBA nats - of course, driving has a lot to do with it too but that's another story). Anyway, in setting up this boat I broke every rule about it and would not hesitate to do so again were I to purchase a new seaducer (no turn fins - I have two; no deflector plates - I have two on either side; subsurface drive - I converted it to surface drive (as you can see, this is a VERY old version as the new 45 seaducer is only surface drive)). Engine is the OS 46 VX - very few 45 seaducers use this engine and I don't know why since it is a work of art, is strong out of the box (no mods needed), relatively cheap (from Tower) and parts are available - one of the very best (in my opinion) 45s on the market.

Strut on mine is almost parallel to the keel, maybe slightly kicked up to raise the bow. The boat is rock solid in almost any type of water. One of the few boats I have driven (and continue to drive) where I can actually drive it without worrying about it.

Finally, as to the notion of 'supposed to...', I would just say to use your engineering sense and experiment yourself.

I guess it just goes to show as Marty and John stated in a previous thread- there are many different ways to skin a cat- and many different ways to achieve the same end result. There is a racer in our dist. that had a hatch made for his 40 Seaducer. Looks cool- does it help - ??? Its quieter I can tell you that. I wish Jerry was still running, thats half the reason Im racing this class, I wanted to be able to race against him at the D3 High points races. Might as well run with the best if you wanna be faster right ?

WILL IT RUN IN THE 60 MPH RANGE? There are 40 monos in the 63-64 mph range @ the Big races on a Quality radar gun.
