10 times more susceptible to damage.. Truth is quite the opposite.

10 times was a close guess. There is absolutely no question the coax 2.4 antenna's are a whole lot more fragile than any standard copper wire FM antenna ever was.

How do you figure otherwise ?

If you can't even fold the coax over an antenna tube once and put the cap on without ruining it and you could do exactly that a whole lot more than 10 times without any damage to a copper wire FM antenna that makes it 10 times at least.

I know how you have to treat them but some don't realize you can't do with them what we used to do with FM antenna's.

Seen at least half a dozen people ruining them from exactly what I mentioned that is pushing it up a antenna tube and folding it over the top and capping it.

You can almost ruin one by pinching it under the lid or a servo horn catching on it. The stuff is pretty fragile and does require it be treated differently than we used to do with FM antenna's.

I have had zero problems but I see people having to get replacements because they didn't treat it properly.

I don't remember hardly ever hearing of a FM antenna that was damaged to the point of needing replacement. 2.4 fast antenna's are a hot seller for some reason. Why do you think that might be? maybe because they are fragile !!!

I guess I have been lucky!

I treat mine just like any FM antennae wire.

Had 2.4 since it came out on the market.

Just to change the subject for a moment. When I first looked at the picture I thought that I was seeing an awesome rooster tail from a 21 hydro. Then I played the video and realized that it was a fountain. Aside from my illusion the boat looks real good. JB

Anthony,

At least you got some of your boat back. Several years ago I hit a concrete bulkhead at full throttle with a 90 hydro. Didn't find any of it. K90 Engine, Carbon Fiber hull, and all radio gear. GONE.

Don't let it get you down. It's happens to just about everyone.
