Terry,Mike,Mark,& Mike,Randy,Walt,

Another GREAT EVENT by the FAST club.

The Grim's were very impressive with their equipment and knowledge

of the sport. It sure was nice to finally meet you two, and you guys sure

have it going ON with R/C boats and motors. The water was very nice on

Sunday and it is always worth the trip down to see and meet old and new

friends. Had a lot of fun and sure learned a lot. Looking forward to the fall

event.

Charles,

The Zoom carbs were VERY IMPRESSIVE. They are working even better

once I got the motor to burn all the fuel that they deliver. For sure the

best carb in the world. :D

Thanks Again,

Mark Sholund

Just got back from Flint and our first FAST event and dead tired so just a quick update, look for a full article in the upcoming June Roostertail.

As advertised we got some decent conditions early and late both days with Sunday being the best. Wind was behind us from the west hard on Saturday but was still runable, was lighter on Sunday. Air was good early at 100% and dropped to about 96% both days.

The big news has to be the work of Mark and Chris Grim from LA with help from "CC" Carlo and Marc "The Genius" from N'Olins. We were treated to see many years of hard work by the Grims as all their stuff went "hot, straight and normal", very impressive. They now officially have the fastest pass at Thread Lake with a 2.000 sec or 112.5 mph shot with their F hydro. They also ran right on Mike Nowicki's B (.21) hyrdo record with a fast pass of 103.353 mph, but the backup was just short late Sunday night. Their LSG boats were equally impressive, a fast pass of 2.099 (107.194 mph) backed up with a 2.202 netted a new LS27 application of 104.603 mph. Chris also ran the "pins" with their LS27 Oval boat to set a new mark of 21.675 sec.

Steve Reesor was our only "amp head" and his new SAW boat looked very impressive considering it just hit the water the week before. Steve had a 97.108 mph pass with his P set up and set the Q Hydro oval at 24.822 sec.

Wally Duarte made the 800+ mile treck from NH again and came very close to the LS27 Cat record running a best pass of 76.531 mph just off the 77.373 record held by Mike Hoffmeister.

Gary & Dave Preusse made the run from Chicago, Gary ran his little A (.12) hydro with a fast pass of 73.052 mph, getting close to the record.

Thanks also to all the other's that came to support our first event, much appreciated.

All in all a great weekend, gotta thank our IMPBA President Kevin Sheren and his wife Shannon for the great lunches and the help with teching motors and other chores. Also my FAST bro's Mke Nowicki, Mark Stein, Mikey Ross, Walt Radzinski and Randy Crum without who it just wouldn't happen.

See ya'll October 3, 4th. ;)

Chris and I would like to start off by saying Thanks to Terry Keeley and the whole fast team YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! You put on a really nice event. :D

It was really nice to go to a Records Trials and just be a participant for a change! :)

I would like to thank Kevin and his wife Shannon for cooking for us for 2 days and all the other things that they provided us with. ;)

It was really nice to meet alot of the people that I have talked to on the phone for some time but never had the pleasure to meet in person.

The Lake is a great place for record trials and is very fast water! Next time we will be more dialed in (The Grim/CC Racing Team Will Be Back!) Next time maybe the wind will give everyone a break.

Thanks for all of the laughs we had plenty! Wally.... Keep working on those one-liners! :p

Thanks Charlie Purdue for the modified 21 Carb it gave me alot more ZOOM! ;)

NOW I NEED MORE PROP! ;)

Thanks Again The Grims

What I forgot to mention about Mark and Chris Grim was that in addition to their amazing on water performance, their off water performance was even more impressive.

Any spare minute they had they were helping others with their boats, bending on props and being the true gentlemen they are. After they set the LS27 SAW record they took the prop off their boat and let Mike Nowicki and Mikey Ross try it on theirs, incredible.

If you're looking for great custom prop work, give Chris at "True Spin Props" a call, you won't be dissappointed! :)

Terry, and all the F.A.S.T. crew,

Thanks for the hospitality and a great time! This was my first timing event and all I can say is WOW!!

These guys are into some serious SPEED! If you've never been out to see one you should! It was nice meeting all the "internet names" (they really are real people!)

Thanks to Mike C. for the use of his starter box and all the parts trades.

A Special thanks to the Grims for the help they gave me, Like everyone has said...they have it together and as busy as they were, they still made time to help alot of people including me. I really appreciated the help.

Thanks,

Keep on pushin on guys!!!
