hi guys

i know i'm annoying but can you give me different 70mph set ups? what i mean is can you give me a hull name and a motor that will get me 70mph.

thanks

Are you looking to run SAW or oval at 70mph?

Are you looking for a Rigger, Hydro, Cat or Vee

Are you looking to spend a lot of money?

Speed takes money!

Ray, he wants to take a Mean Machine to 70mph (or a Smith Cat from what I gather).

EATMYWAKE, the SPEED RECORD today is 74.3 from Jay Turner. That tells me that

it will be hard for you to get a 70mph w/o spending some major money and even

then, it's not 100% guaranteed you will achieve that. The really fast guys not only have the

power system that the hull requires but also the hull, prop, aerodynamics mods that it takes

to get there.

Jay T has a Smith Cat and his speeds were amazing, I believe he got it in the 80's at one point but

could not back it up... Jay, please chip in if I am wrong.

Anyway, I think he uses a 1515/1D for his "P" setup (4 lipo cells) for the Smith Cat,

I also saw him with a 1527/1D on his Q setup this last SAW event on his gas hull

Again, Jay, pitch in if I am wrong.

i am going to be running in a wide open spot with nuthing to hit for about 3miles. as for hull type i just wanted to se what you guys recomend. cat, hydro, or mono....

and i know thing is goig to be expensive

If you just want fast, then go with a Rigger, you'll have a good chance to hit 70mph for less,

if you want a different hull then you'll have to spend more money.

Any N2 Rigger these days has power to spare to hit 70mph, it's just a matter of setup...

N2 hull = ?

N2 cells = $110

N2 ESC = $260

N2 Motor = $206

N2 HW = $70+

N2 Prop = $15+ Elbow grease

Seeing your boat go 70+... and flip...

PRICELESS!

Cmdi/Andy Brown .67 Eagle with a CMB Greenhead, using a pipe and prop from CMDi should get you to 70 mph with out alot of messing around.

Total cost will be about 1,800.00 minimum. Of course I have seen people screw up this combination and not hit 70 mph.

Go to www.cmdracing.com

Now if you have more specifics on hull type and power plant I am sure the guys on Intwaters can steer you in the right direction.

That's small rigger... you don't want that. You'll need something larger in order to go that fast.

That is a Rigger built by Dick Crowe and was a decent hull until some mishaps occurred.

But still it's too small.

if you are not in a hurry this will be a great hull for your needs

Sorry for sending you away from here, but I cannot find the same thread here...

If this is not ok with the Admin, please let me know.

My bad, Did not see the electric part of the conversation...I think CMDi has an electric version of the Eagle. Not a 100% sure though.

Look at www.cmdracing.com

okay i'm gunna go with an electri rigger,

where can i get an electric version of the eagle?

and all other rigger recomendations are greatly appreciated!

are there any mono's that will hold up at 70? or should i go with a cat? the reason i dont want a hydro or rigger is because i mite be running in 3-6 inch chop one day. then another day i mite be running in water so flat it looks like glass(rare)... but i will probobly be running in a 1-3" chop most of the time

Not true, I've seen guys their first time at a saws bust 70 with an aeromarine cat..

They'd done not much more than bought it from the right source..

Jay admits that his q record should get blasted to smitherines with the lipo power we have now.. (not that his record isn't extremely tall and respectable)

Sevral ways to hit 70 without breaking the bank.. A Novak motor in a rigger on 4s will hit 70 all year.. And that's not an expensive setup..

A wide variety of monos will hold 70mph

A great source to utilize is the SAWS records to date.. Just look at IMPBA and NAMBA SAWS records, and that will give you a general idea what it takes, and what hulls held up at what speed besides, isn't that why we list our setups when we win?
