Where is a good place to buy lexan sheets for radio box lids? Would like to buy it smoked and 1/8 thick. Looked at a couple of places locally, but they all say they don't carry it that thin. any idea??

Hey John-

I get sheet sections of clear plastic from Home Depot or Lowes. You can find it in the replacement window glass & screen section. They usually have different thicknesses & this stuff is tough, won't get brittle, is easy to cut & drill thru. Best of all it's priced cheap & will make lots of radio box lids. Then get some black clothing dye & just pass the cut plastic quickly thru the hot dye mix repeating until you get the desired "smoked" effect. I also do my tinted scale windshields this way :)

I ended up buying about twenty 14"x 21"x 1/16" smoked sheets from Boeing surplus. I think the price was around $5.
