IMPBA is Good @ 2.50 max Limit. The Rules for TWIN class are in Place!! You boys Need to work with NAMBA to increase there TWIN Hydro class Max Limit. Many boaters crossover from IMPBA to NAMBA racing. Only makes sense that the engines classes comply to the same.
If we want to make the organizations have the same limits, motor sizes and classes to cross over, it does not stop with a new max displacement for NAMBA. There are many other classes that do not match up perfectly. .21 stock OPC and sport 40-II just to name a few.

What we really need is less classes, less bigger is better and less possible races to attend every year. We have diluted racing with everyone wanting something new instead of maxing out what we already have. I crave the days when we had a max of about eight classes and all of them filled up at every race. Most classes would have 15-20 entries. Thats when winning meant something. Not struggling to make 15 classes with 3-5 boats for one race. I know that gas boats seem to have bigger turnouts at races.

Just look at the National events this year. How many classes topped 15 boats???? Not many. Specialty races that limit the amount of classes seem to be the largest and best races around.

Increasing motor displacement for one of the more expensive motor sizes around, in a small quantity class will probably not grow the class here in Namba.

Now don't take it wrong, I love twins and admire the racers that go thru the effort to make them run well. The sound they generate is second to none.

Joe W. This post was not directed at you or meant to argue with you but rather just an overall opinion. Not that my opinion is worth a s&*^t.

I think you might be surprised ...here in FL in one year we have gone from two twins at a race to TWELVE !! Not all guys want to run with 101 's but it is a natural progression in the class i think Let's get it done .

Tom,

I can only speak from my limited experience and from what I have seen. It is good to here that some Nitro classes are growing. It is a simple process to get the change in motion.

It must be awesome to have two heats of twin boats at a district race.

Good luck with it.

NAMBA is the organization that is Behind. IMPBA has set there rules for the engines built today & it has been that way for a Year Now....... Maybe you NAMBA boys NEED to CATCH UP!!!!!!! Florida was a better place to race when it was IMPBA.....! P.s. The VAC91`s are just as fast as the RS101`s Soooooooo what is the Thinking that its safer & LEGAL to race 91VAC & NOT RS101 They both fit into the same size Twin. WE have already seen Larry Bells 90 MPH VAC 91 Twin on VIDEO......... So its OK??? But you cannot race 101`s in NAMBA........??? Robert, Do you even Own a TWIN?????

Joe,

Sorry to get you so wound up. If you really want to make this an IMPBA vs NAMBA thing your attacking the wrong guy. I want to promote model boating not tear it apart here on a forum.

I am a deep rooted NAMBA guy and I have nothing against IMPBA.

The displacement rule hasn't been changed in NAMBA because the membership has not chose to change it. Not because NAMBA is behind the times as you stated.

Here at NAMBA the membership votes on such issues and if the Insurance is okay with it, it passes. It obviously apparent that it hasn't been a big enough issue in NAMBA because not a single member has petitioned for it to be changed.

I do have a twin in the Garage but the real question here is, do you belong to NAMBA ??? If you don't, than try not to change it. If you do, than take the proper steps to change it and not bash it here.

Joe,

I am sorry that I tagged on to your previous post and as I stated in an earlier post, it was not directed at you nor meant to offend you. Take a step back and see how we can bring both organizations together not build a bigger wall between them.

I did a few years ago in NAMBA D-7. The District Director didn't think it was worth the effort...

Buck Does TWIN HYDRO class even have its own written set of rules in NAMBA?? Is it a Legal Class or does it operate under Special Event Rules every time? jw

Amen Brother

Been preaching just this for the last couple of years. I miss the old days of 2 or 3 full heats of racing. District racing wins meant something back then. You earn them going against 15-18 boats.

Mike

Jeff.............I would never say never. When IMPBA put the pettion out for the displacement rule change I for One wanted it to be 2.10. Why, because it covers the largest displacement that can be use. And what would I do with twin 1.05's ;) ;)
Chuck,Your a smart fellow,I would "Never say never" either.I said "Anytime soon",and I would love to be wrong about this. But,Chuck,When you get an engine that size,it will be time to start talking about a different type of glow plug.Maybe one day......

Jeff your right. It may be a few thing that will need improvement. But I an ready for it when it comes.  :D :D

I sent an email to district 3 director Marvin Erbesfeld this morning and recieved very positive feedback and the process has been started to get the 101 Twin platform legal in NAMBA . Gotta think positive to get positive !! :) :)
