Allan, looks like as per the rule book on page 32 your limited to 30.009 cc or 1.80 cu.in.

Might be best to contact Bill Bridge the hydro chairman.

I thought they voted in the amended rule about displacement. This was to allow twin 26 gas motors. If that went threw, than you are good to go on the twin 101.

Mike

Mike, yes, I think it went through and should be in the next propwash. 53 cc limit. GXTwin gas class..... I suppose you can run gas 53cc's against 30cc nitro? What a hole in the water that would create.....

Pretty dang sure there is no mixing of Nitro class X and Gas class GX twin displacement limit rules.

Each has a limit based upon type of engines used.

MAY BE WRONG ... but think your outta luck with twin 101's in either

I believe Scott is correct. The twin gas rules is only applied to gas motors. For X class nitro the 30cc rule is still in place. Of course it is very easy to propose a rule change to allow twin 101 motors.

 Oh well! The OLD Rule Namba never change only stay 30cc for X hydro and Twin. <_< I dont understand about GX Twin(rigger & Caterman) but  the weight is over 30 to 40lbs. I said very lucky permit 35cc twin classes for IMPBA

Maybe they need to operate under SPECIAL EVENT RULE CLASS for the 101 TWINS in NAMBA?

101 twins hmmm You wanted it and I got it done for you. When will we see a TRIPLE

Dr. Sid Broughton had a triple OPS .61 powered Gator back in the day! Last time I saw it race was the Huntsville Internats about 1986.

They already operate under the special event clause. There is a class for twins already. It is X hydro. There is only two events that I know of that run a twin class anyhow in NAMBA. Nats and the Grand Prix. There may be others on the east coast but most distrcts run them in their X hydro class. I thought they were uping the limit. Looks like I was wrong.

Just to ask this question a different way. What is the maximum boat weight and length that NAMBA covers?

Are there any Nitro engine displacement limitations that prevent the 1.0, 101s, etc. from being covered under the NAMBA insurance at this time?

In IMPBA up until the time when the new category was created Nitro 1win 1.0s, 101, etc. were illegal ( banned from all events). B)

I believe NAMBA insurance only covers NAMBA legal boats, so a twin 91 is covered but a twin 101 would not. Not sure if there is a max weight clause, but I think 60" is the max length permitted.

In NAMBA district 19 it was voted in at the year end meeting that there would be an OPEN class -- any hull nitro / gas up to max CC,s allowed -- it,s working well

Any NAMBA district can do the same at the year end distict meeting

So Allan you need to propose a CC limit change to run your 101 twin

1. Internal combustion glow engines:

Class Displacement

A 0 - 3.509 cc (0 - 0.21 cu. in.)

B 3.51 - 7.509 cc (0.22 - 0.45 cu. in.)

C 7.51 - 11.009 cc (0.46 - 0.67 cu. in.)

X 11.01 – 30.009 cc (0.68 - 1.80 cu. in.)

2. Internal combustion spark engines - see Section 27

i) Engines running in this class will not be required to fall under the

“industrial” rule. Displacement is the swept volume of the engine,

which is the cross sectional area of the cylinder multiplied by the

stroke of the engine and three displacement ranges will be offered

within this class:

(a) GX-1 will include engines from 15 to 25.99 cubic centimeters.

( B) GX-2 will include engines from 26 to 35.99 cubic centimeters.

© GX-Twin will include two engines or an engine with two

cylinders with a maximum displacement of 53.00 cubic

centimeters

7. The maximum size of boat will be 60". R/C Combat ships are not restricted in size.

8. The maximum allowable weight for any boat shall not exceed 35 pounds. Any class

may have its own maximum or minimum weight requirements as long as the

maximum weight does not exceed 35 pounds. The 35 pound weight limit is “ready to

run” before fuel or gas is added. This weight limit applies to all boats except legal

R/C Combat classes. A boat can be weighed at the discretion of a club official,

contest official or through the protest process already defined by NAMBA rules in

Section 16 - rule G.
