Hey guys,

What are the difference in charactoristics in these two series of props. Also, what makes a riggers back end "hop" in a turn. Boat in question is an older Eagle twin running CMB 67 EVOs and 1462 props.

The 14 series props i beleive are lifting, and the X is non lifting props.

Something about the sizes as well, the 1440 is the same size as the X440, but ones a lifting and other non lifting.

Something like that :D

Tom

14xx and 16xx series Octura's are fixed pitch, X series Octura's and H series ABC's are progressive pitch,

Generally speaking fixed pitch is faster, and progressive pitch handels better,

Gene :D

Thanks for the input. Been out of the hobby for a while and this is my first year back. Trying to shake the cobwebs off on what is what. How about what makes a rigger hop in the turns? twin 67s, 1462 props.

either the prop has to much lift, or to much angle on the strut. It's most likely a strut adjustment. Set the strut parallel (bottom flat with no angle) with the tub and try it that way.

Man with those 462 props I'm surprised that boat would even hop. That's a big prop for a .67 size motor.

As those guys said, adjust the strut to lay flat on the table, no pitchor angles. Also, may sound crazy but sometimes if your ruddar is slightly crooked that'll do it too.
