I know wall spackle works but i want something better and someone here sell good stuff.

There is a product called Evercoat Fiber Tech you might try. Reading right off the package it says "A polyester compound formulated with Kevlar and other high tech reinforcing fibers. It's superior strength makes it ideal for repairing fiberglass, SMC, rigid plastic body panels, panel bonded seams, weld seams and rust. Fiber Tech also has excellent adhesion to steel, galvanized steel and aluminum." The only catch is the stuff says right on the package that the vapor is harmful and to use only with adequate ventilation. Sounds to me like a respirator might be a good idea as well. I haven't tried it yet, but plan to do so in the not too distant future

Get ICING made by USC. Its a two part pollypuddy. Mixes like bondo, but speads like cake icing and sand super easy with 180 grit sandpaper and its lightweight too. Its for auto & marine use. You can find that at you local autopaint store. That what I've use all the time on my boats.

I have been using the icing for some time now,,,, good stuff, SUPER easy to sand, fast drying. And works with epoxy hulls just fine

Both Rick and Nessa told me about ICING awhile ago....I WONT USE ANTHING ELSE! I tried everything else....spackle, glaze, drippin primer into those stinkin pinholes, even epoxy mixed with a few microballons...the ICING fills pinholes and larger, deeper holes, usually the first time...sand it back...and yer DONE! Sands VERY easily! :)

Hydro junkie I have tried the evercoat and found it to be a bit too thick/coarse for small pin holes but it it sticks really well.Good luck.

Terry;

You should be able to get it where ever you get you paints & supplies.

If you can't find it, and want to try it I can get some & send to your U.S. address. don't remember the cost, if you want me to check I will, on Monday

does that ICING stuff shrink or crack at all? similar to bondo just easier to work with? whats the drying times?

Rob....NO! Thats what i like about it...Yes! its a 2 part filler like bondo, but in my opinion it sands almost like glaze...it hardens very quickly if mixed correctly...minutes...i suppose if you mix it too hot it might shrink, but it hasnt happened to me yet......man im SOLD on the stuff for all kinds of filling!

Thanks for the offer rick , i will try here next week and then i will be in the states next weekend also and will try there too. This will be for winter projects and som repairs...

Thanks to everyone i will try the Icing or the BVM product .I hear both are good.I was not to impressed with the 3m two part glazing and spot putty

ICING WILL WORK GREAT

dont oversize the amount mixed , it kicks off VERY quickly

about the size of a table spoon at a time.

dont over activate it, dont overmix it. mixing causes the chemicals to "work" faster.

it also depends on your tempeature zone.

use a sharp squeegee and keep it thin, dont pile it on. better 2 coats lightly than one thick one.

work in one direction, dont go back and forth over it.

the talkum powder in icing is like body filler, only this product is finely honed.

price at car quest , if they handle paint supplies, is $38.00 FOR A TUBE. unless you can get a discount , the cost is less, about $28.00

this stuff?

I got 3 hulls to fill and sand, would be nicer to use than bondo

Yep Thats It!!! My hubby turned me on to that stuff. He's been using that stuff when it first hit the market in 1990. Everycoat doesnt sand easy and will clog sand paper. ICING was made to fill in dings on cars without grinding the paint off to bare metal plus fills in pinhole from bondo. Just sand the area with 120-180 then apply the ICING on. Trust me you'r going to love it and never touch anything eles. I've been promotoing/sudjesting that stuff on the RC boat sites since 06. Oh they make ICING for plastic bumpers too.

I have used both Icing and BVM pin hole filler. The Icing works better for large holes. The BVM pin hole filler is much easier to use, and works better on the smaller holes.
