OT: What is this BUG!

I come home tonight from work to find this HUGE bug on my front door! What the heck is it?

the bugs have been real bad around here this year..... i got a boat load of earwigs also...... anyone got a good method to get rid of them. I already went around the house with triazicide?? and some other spray stuff..... had zero impact on them buggers!

Here in Virginia it's knows in scientific communities as the Beetleus Grandios or more commonly called the Big-Ass-Bug.

I found the walmart pest control items was too watered down to effectively control pests in south Texas. I've been using Demon WP or the past 6 months and have had great success. This is the same stuff that the exterminators use on the quarterly plan (3 month residual).

Just mix and apply according the the instructions (don't over mix). It even comes in water soluable bags so you don't get exposed to the powder before it goes into the sprayer bottle.

I've seen a number of those here in Indiana. Don't know the actual name but we always called them pinching bugs. Yes, thats one of the biggest ones I've seen and dont get you finger between those pinchers. They are really strong and won't let go!

Tom - please do us a favour and stick it in a bottle and bring it to the nationals so we can have a look.

We don't breed anything that big in Oz - just Kangaroos and sharks.

Bottle? Maybe a bit too big. Just put your dogs collar and lead on it and put it in the back seat of the car so we can play with it later.

What do you think you will have to feed it with? Is it a meat eater or just likes sucking blood? Can't wait to see it. It will be the topic of conversation at the pool party.
