Tim, round up some people to run tunnels, see if you can contact the guy who has a Villain up your way...i thik Gary has a couple of boats he could lend to get som tunnels racing

all things being equal by that tim i will have 2 3.5 nitro tunnels RTR and i can only run 1 at a time, so the other might need a pilot

BTW Craig, have you decided when you will be leaving for the ACT, late friday night, or afternoon?

Well it looks like this event will be the last time I race wompies (outboards for the un -initiated!) I have found a loving home for my cherrished little Novarossi / lawless on the condition that it stays with me long enough for the ACT titles. Now I hope everyone gets an entry in for the class in time HINT HINT!

Well I just got an email from Andrew the race secretary, and to say the numbers are poor would be an understatement..... I know several guys who are doing the US trip have pulled out due to that trip being so close, but the local entries are very weak too.

Entries close this Friday. If some more entries don't arrive pronto there will not be enough boats to run most classes.

Going by the response for this event - I think we should cancel the NSW titles until after July - thoughts?

There was plenty of talk about tunnels leading up to this event but then it died off, as usual...its a REAL shame :unsure:

I will not be running - despite not being able to go to the US. I am also dissappointed about the lack of actual commitment to run tuennls - myself included. I am actually ready to run but given other pressures and the present lack of entrants I cannot see myself spending any time on trimming boats.

I would have been surprised had there been much local commitment given the very low number of local members - and that we are spread accross all the classes.

I'm starting to think with the commitment that a reasonable number are making to go tothe US this event and possibly the NSW titles are not viable.

Why cant we just run on the practise lake (we ran on at Christmas/New Year)? Mark who bought my ABS Sprint from moraya (sp?) is keen to come on over so he can get his boat to run correctly...i am keen to run, Tim is keen, treat it as a sent off party for Tims Tunnel

Problem is we are most likely within interference range of where the real racing will take place - it's only about 1000m from the race location. I'm not against running but the timing sucks - that's all.

I also race riggers and would be running them. They usually have enough entries for a class So I can't be in 2 places at once.

RIP outboard tunnel hull racing in Australia. It's well and truly dead. If it can't happen @ the ACT titles it will never happen.

Hmmm well I am still planning on entering and bringing 5 boats including a 7.5 tunnel. I believe Al Mawhinney is planning on going as well so between us that makes:

2 x X Hydro

2 x C Hydro

2 x B Hydro

1 x X Mono

1 x A Mono

1 x B outboard tunnel

I will confirm with Al this week and we should have our entries on the way tomorrow.

If I end up racing you I can't call your starts for you like at the nationals! I guess you would have to follow me and hope I don't do the jump start trick we did to the other guys trying to copy your start at the Nats B) That was priceless :lol:
