THe JAE design team has just released a new set of JAE "Twin" .45 plans for consumption by model boaters......

With very little imagination this newest release would also make a very good FE boat for certain applications.....

The plans are available for downloading at the link shown below ......

Nice Be Cool Is David Hall still build new project 45 twin this year?

David Hall started work on the plans over 2 months ago and we discussed quite a few of the details for a 45 twin. He released the plans in auto cad to me about 4 weeks ago. I'm working away at it and will post pictures of the build soon. Sure had to squeeze the engines in as the tub is a bit less than 4 3/4" wide inside. Lots or work to do with the custom motor mounts. Going to have 2 Picco 45 engines in it. Thanks to David for including a lot of the instructions right on the plans.

Adjusting the width of the tub 1/2" either way to accomodate different motors should be no problem to the performance of the boat...... ;)

Rod is Joe at Zipp building these yet? Cool Boat
Thanks Joe, I am sure if enough people show an interest he would build a short kit. Narrow the tub about an inch and it would work really well with a high RPM 80 size motor.

Well I`m thinking TWIN 45`ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss with some 1657`s 4.8 cup. Now if they had not screwed up the F hydro class with the singles only?? We would have a place to Race it!!!!!!!

Joe,

We have NOT screwed up the F Hydro class with the singles only. What has been done is an option for clubs to ADD another F Hydro class, even if it is a single engine class. It does not take away from the traditional F Hydro class. If anything, it is increasing the nitro big block class racing. And it has, just look at the numbers entering the Fall Nationals and the Winternationals. That makes 3 F Hydro and twin classes and it does not get much better than that! Don't bash it, embrace it!

John the Winter nats was X - Hydro SINGLES ONLY.... What are you talking about?? They did not add anything. Now your lake or club may have added a extra class!!!......I`am all for Adding F Classes........ Just Not everyone does that... Most clubs just modify the existing Class in the Program......... We need a class to race Twin Hydro 45`s & 67`s in.... Especially if someone is going to built the boats!!!

The winternats was ran under NAMBA rules. I like the IMPBA f class displacement limit.

Anything is possible. if Work is not too demanding in that time frame I could be there. August is normally Stupid busy and most of the time it runs over into Sept.

Jeremy, John was under the impression that they added a Class for F or X Single Hydros. They Just modified the existing class within the NAMBA race program. Singles And Twins have mixed it up for years... Most Boaters like the extra Challenge

4 3/4" wide tub. Where will the rudder be placed?
Well I agree, Unless the pic is deceiving. This thing is Now Hauling ars... And we dont have a rudder...
