Hi All,

I have been looking for a substitute since Hobbypoxy and K&B stopped making their epoxy paints. I have dicovered this recently:

http://www.klasskote.com/

Has anyone tried this? Is it compatible with K&B Superpoxy and Hobbypoxy? Is it any good?

Thanks,

Kez

While the "stats" page shows good test results & spray qualities the prices in say pint sizes ($20 for a pint of catalyst!!) make it no cheaper than the automotive type paints such as PPG Concept. You also have a very, very limited color selection. On the up side you can buy small quantities, not always possible with professional automotive paints. Also keep in mind this is still a 2 part catalyzing epoxy so a good dual cartridge resperator is a must! You do not want this stuff catalyzing in your lungs!!

huh.... might work??? i would suggest to them another test place a 1"square aluminum block on top of a puddle of 70% nitro and let it set overnight....... that always kills all the other "alternative" paints ive tried.

I have been trying different pigments, dug from the bottom of solvent based paints ,(automotive and model paints)that have been allowed to settle and mixing them with clear epoxy and lacquer thinner.I have not found any that pose any apparent problems(seperating, non hardening ect).Candy colors do not settle and are a little more difficult but i have found that 'House Of Color' candy 'Intensifier' is a good candy color concetrate.the result is paint with the the fuel resistant properties of the epoxy used, and a great deal cheaper than two part automotive paint.

Tom,

Hmm, it seems like someone suggested that I try your test on my paint some time ago. I wonder who that was!
