Depending on demand for the K21 and the K45, I hope to follow up with a .90 size engine. So much of the initial investment, spent before any engines are available, has to be spread out over the sales of many engines.

The material and manufacturing quality available to me is excellent.

I am confident that we can provide great engines. I just can not be as confident on a more expensive investment.

The world wide demand for 67 and 80 size engines really does not justify the investment. There is so much initial ivestment that has to be recovered in the engine's sale price. The most popular engines sizes worldwide are the 21 and the 45. Then comes the 90. To pay for the 21, I need to sell at least 500 engines. Same for the 45.

At this time the K45 is being run in the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany and Hungary, so I believe it will cover the upfront costs after a few more years. This justifies coming out with the K21, and possibly a 90.

If these engines become popular worldwide and it looks like the demand for a 67/80 will grow, there would be a slight chance to justify the investment. But, the costs, would make each engine more expense. And, that could kill demand for a K67 or K 80.

Personally, I prefer running 67 and 80 size engines. The power to weight ratio is really good and the boats are big enough to handle rough water. But, return on investment is hard to justify.
 
I have to agree Al. 67's are not nearly as popular as they used to be. Besides nationals or the handful of big nitro races, 60 class rarely makes it. Compare that to 40's and 90's where there are usually enough to 2 heats. The 21's and 45's performed great in Huntsville so bringing on a high performance 90 would be nice.
 
That looks great and I can not wait until they go on the market. Any idea what your going to charge per motor?
 
Thank you for posting this video. I have been told that this boat, with a stock piston/sleeve went 93.8 mph in Cincy.
That is correct Al. There was even a small side bet placed between son and dad on the speed the 20 hydro was running versus the 40 hydro.
I know it's hard to believe when a Grim says it's a "stock engine", but this was out of the box with a CMB carb and an aggressive TT pipe.
