Motor esc selection

Building a ml 1/10th scale 82 oboy ohberto electric and this will be my first endeavor into1/10th fe scale hydro what are the motor and esc requirements for namba max motor size kv and esc rules thanks in advance been running nitro since the late 70s and looks like this hobby is going the way of gas and fe as the nitro classes keep shrinking.

From the NAMBA rule book:

Currently approved motors;
AquaCraft AQUG7000, Himax L36/56 7.2-18V – 6 pole brushless, HB3630 ProBoat 1500 brushless – 6 pole brushless, PRB3310 DYNM3835 A3630-1500 – 6 pole brushless, A3630-1500kv – 6 pole brushless, water cooled, marine motor. No modifications may be made to the motor. Except for normal wear, drive flats or keys, electrical connectors and water cooling, it must be run as shipped from the manufacturer. Power Limits: 10.1 to 15 Volts nominal, any chemistry. Maximum of 2 packs in parallel. Maximum total capacity shall be 10,000 mAh.

Good luck finding one. Many clubs used the P limited motor rules before the latest high power motors became available. ERCU uses the P limited size limits with a 2000 KV limit. They limit current with a 50 mm maximum prop diameter. NAMBA is overdue for a rule change. With the above motors any ESC rated at 100 amps will be fine.

I figured they would be a addendum for the motors since some of them are discontinued the only one I see available is the himax the only dynamite motor available is a 2000kv

I believe there are only 3 or 4 clubs running 1/10 scale in the country. Hell 3 of those are in Dist 8. It is mostly a club thing. Not popular on the national level. All clubs have there own version of a motor rule. So no common theme here. The national rule really only applies to guy doing records. Which no one is. I would check in with your local racers if you are concerned on what to run. Where are you located? Washington and Michigan are the known places they run. There might be others but I have not heard about them.

We ( Dale and I) run 1/10 scale in ERCB. Our boats are so old they mostly follow the NAMBA rules.
